Hello everyone.

@ShadowWizard I am thinking to start bounty on that question as second suggestion seems helpful. What do you think about? (any suggestion?)

What? @Unicorns

Here at the campus icecream shop. The ice cream machine is broken. I asked for a blue raspberry slurpy. The girl gave me a red "blue" "raspberry" slushy that tasted like cherry.

Q: What Easter Eggs do the chat sites have?

MosheAccording to balpha, the SE chat sites may have individual Easter eggs, depending on the site. If you find them, please post. Edit: Because it's so easy to make this stuff up, a screenshot as proof would be nice. (Although Photoshop ain't that hard either...)

Yes, it's unfortunate they the whole 4-day primary round will be spent on getting rid of one 1/40 candidate.
Although the public display of primary scores does influence the final round, both via voters decisions and by candidates withdrawing.
@UnicornsAreVeryVeryYummy +1 for trying ....
(I'm inclined to think this influence is for the better.)

Oops, I got distracted and edited 26 InfoSec posts instead of 25 required to vote in an election.

There is also Romeo with 1/40 score. Now the primary makes perfect sense: it's a deathmatch between two 1-score candidates.

We are not here to help OP. If anything, it's the other way around. We are trying to build a library of answers for people to find via a search engine, OP should be asking the question for this purpose, not for selfish reasons. We don't need to facilitate the use of SO as a debugging tool, SE doesn't work well for that purpose. — bjb568 1 hour ago
No, we are here to help others via helping the OP.
@hichris123 actually, we don't give a crap about OP, the question is the only thing that counts

A: The problem with extrinsic motivation

Jon EricsonApparently, I'm now officially involved in Stack Exchange again. How did that happen? You might remember that about a year ago I planned to participate on Philosophy and Gardening. It turns out that I don't have many questions about gardening as I only have a couple of windowsills, a balcony a...

@hichris123 well, buddy, I can't help you with that because now I have two problems
Google is getting suspicious about SmokeDetector
@hichris123 why that answer?
8:18 PM
> On the other hand, it's at this point that truly selfless behavior is possible. "I care about the community" is often the same thing as "I care about somebody else's well-being as much as I do my own". That's powerful. It touches something far deeper than any of the individual topics represented on Stack Exchange. In some ways, an extrinsic motivation becomes an intrinsic motivation.
The motivation is to help the OP, and as a side effect help those who come after.
Or you could want to help those who come after, and not care about the OP.
Or you could just care about your Imaginary Internet Points™.
Doesn't seem really relevant, the whole answer is a bit wishywashy for me. OP is one idiot, googlers are many more, which should outweigh OP.
... bjb on motivation: THERE IS NO MOTIVATION.
Ironic coming from a cat.
The motivation is that you feel good knowing you helped he googlers.
@hichris123 using that paragraph as summary of Jon, isn't fair. The motivations Jon points at are more far from helping someone than the interest on doing something they are interested in, ie, points, the topic itself, the site, the community around that site....
Answer good questions, edit posts, vote, point out wrong things in comments. It all helps the googlers.
8:22 PM
btw, my motivation is "money"
@Braiam Hmm?

@Braiam right. You get to think. Not just about the problem you're solving, but about how to explain it to others. Answering can be more of an education than asking...
@hichris123 your paragraph alone taken out of context isn't representative of what Jon thinks

Back in March, when four Math users totaling about 400,000 rep were suspended for 6-12 months, that was probably the record long-term suspension anywhere on SE... Too bad three of them are coming back in two months.
I mean, YCS had under 100,000 rep.
@NormalHuman they were on which camp? The no-nonsense or anyone else?
BalusC had more, but that was very short-term.
@Braiam The "do trivial homework and upvote each other" camp.
I presume after suspension they had less rep?
8:54 PM
Not that there is a shortage of others willing to do at least the first part of that.
@Braiam No, from the reputation graph on activity it looks like nothing got revoked.
I do notice that it became easier to dispose of closed HW crap: the answers tend to stay at 0 because nobody cares. As it should be.
