If you don't mean exactly this, you should probably be more clear what your intended result is:
DECLARE @foo VARCHAR(32)
SET @foo = '%ABC?;888123?'
SELECT SUBSTRING(@foo, 7, LEN(@foo) - 7)
Result: 888123
Now none of my screenshots will match what the site actually looks like and I'll get a million comments along the lines of "Where are you seeing this? My site doesn't look like that!"
There is no Meta user named Woodchuck. Was his account deleted over this? One duplicate and it gets your account nuked?!? It's this type of moderator abuse that I've frankly seen too much of.
@jadarnel27 want to swap those people with my clients who use their own name as the subject of their emails? The amount of emails titled "Marco" is beyond annoying.
Hehe. My sockpuppet actually comes in handy from time to time. Not so much on the SO front, but it shows me that people are actually sending email to my Yahoo account. Never ever check it.
The new style objectively sucks! ☺ I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few voting widgets in my time.
The thinner font makes the vote counts look off-center. Example (colored lines added to demonstrate the pixels are off-center):
The digits are too far to the right:

It's actually the arrows that are offset to the left by 1 pixel, due to putting a 26px-wide arrow inside a 41px-wide box. The text is perfectly centered. The arrows are just, eh... a mess... — animusonDec 15 '12 at 20:57
On a question page the vote count is slightly offset to the right. This is very much nitpicking of me but it drives me crazy. I have OCD. So I'm reporting it.
(I drew alignment markers to make sure I'm not crazy.)
@jadarnel27 It was a title-only edit. The buttons only appear if the body has been changed. It kept converting the -- to an em-dash, so I added a zero-width spacer after them.
"On behalf of the Social Committee, we would like to invite you to an impromptu Friday Fun Day this week! Starting at noon and going until food runs out we are will be tailgating and grilling out hamburgers and hot dogs."
Our company has a Social Committee? o.o And they don't know how to type?
@Oded common you first comment on the question "Oh. Hai Vlad. Bored today?", does not add anything, is totally off-topic. For a moderator that does not sounds good
@DiegoCNascimento - Possibly. Fact is - this is a sock puppet. The OP has a suspended account already, so the fact that we still let him use the sock is more than being tolerant.
@Oded well I don't disagree with that, nor the constructive comments left to the user, but your one is not professional, but ok, I'm just talking about that.
@DiegoCNascimento as a fairly risk averse ex-SO mod, @Oded's comment isn't particularly harmful. I'd have done the same. Users like vlad either shape up by being called out for bad citizen behaviour or just go the fuck away. Either outcome is good.
@Kev yes I see It goes for the **** way. I don't have anything as it has using a MAC lol. But I think @Oded comment seems like a impulse for new users to do this type of comment.
@Manishearth I still have ♦ muscle memory I can't seem to shake. Work is busy but dull as dishwater, I'm transcribing old company FAQ to new company FAQ wiki, flushing out old and outdated crap etc. Sometimes nice to do no-brainer work for a week or two but I'm itching to get on with more interesting projects.
@Manishearth tbh I'm not sure how many customers bother with it and just log a trouble ticket, which I then want to close off SO style then suspend them :)
So. Yeah. I've been paid good money to sit down and twiddle my thumbs in the past. Hated it and wanted to do something useful that was also something that I could legitimately claim was work relate ;)
Sure they do. But the computer is in the living room, so when I do an image search, I don't need them looking over my shoulder asking "what is that man doing to that woman?"
> Amalaha says his experiments show that the north and south poles of magnets are attracted to each other — but same poles repel each other. Astoundingly, this "means that man cannot attract another man because they are the same, and a woman should not attract a woman because they are the same. That is how I used physics to prove gay marriage wrong."
