Thanks Smokey :-)

why is this NOT a NAA: meta.stackexchange.com/a/377395/361484 ?
Ehmm... I guess it was left because it says something about 'it now worked'. But yeah, that's probably more of a comment than an actual answer.
Certainly not one I would've upvoted to the score it has now :/
yeah, that was my reasoning too, but apparently it isn't a NAA, but well, there are bigger things to worry about
Q itself already has 4 CV's too.
07:45
@Luuklag someone commented a solution, and it worked for OP
So practically she closed the loop
@JourneymanGeek ? I don't see anyone commenting a solution that OP confirmed as working. The OP was the one taht commented that they tried logging out and in again, and in the answer they restate that this is what now mysteriously worked :/
If anything, that probably means the question should be closed as 'no longer reproducible', not answered :|
Is there a sandbox Stack Exchange?
Something like, try flagging a post, posting an answer, asking a question?
@for-the-love-of-soupless no
@Tinkeringbell iirc there was. Deleted?
@JourneymanGeek Hmm. That's quite sad. I want to see all the possible options when flagging, and I don't want to accidentally raise a flag to a post
Thanks!
@JourneymanGeek Nope. 1 deleted comment and that's contesting a close vote as only specific for 1 site.

Wondering: when you vote to close a question, are the various sublevels of a main close reason collated when the question is closed?
I just voted to close a question as "no longer repro" and that was shown to have (2) votes. "This relates to only one site" had (2) votes two. My vote was the fifth one, and now the question is closed with the "can no longer be reproduced" line, showing 5 names. But if I understand correctly, 2 of those names actually voted for another reason...
As far as I know, yeah... that's always been like that?
I don't know, just asking... I never realized that before but I guess it makes sense mostly.
Maybe it could be reworded a little but that should be a no-issue.

All of a sudden the Top Bar is different, fixed; after so long that the bug report from years ago is difficult to locate:
10:27
Ooo dark theme :-o
11:16
@Wolgwang dark lord
@Wolgwang for what?
@MetaAndrewT. yeah, I tried to use Reddit, can't fit in. Too used to SE. :/
@forestdistrustsStackExchange Well you can't know...

8 years have passed, the smoke detector is still not an official anti-spam bot?
Why should it be?
What would making it official make it do that it can't do now?
auto-remove spam
I remember some talks about that
@nicael true.
@nicael nah that's terrible idea.
well but there're some reports with blacklisted links or users, that would clearly be 100% spam
Eh, when in need, I think you can already request autoflags that nuke things entirely. But it's reserved for very rare cases, like spam waves that have spam that's very unlikely to trigger any false positives.
11:54
but e.g. it can mean MetaSmoke can be hosted on SE servers, not rely on the good will of single ordinary person.
@nicael no, that's never true.
User can post nonsense in one site while posting helpful answers on other sites.
There used to be such SE employee.
There is still such user here on MSE. (Pure troll on MSE, totally normal user on other SE sites.)
hah really
funny
Also, mods are not eligible for auto-flags on their sites because it's too much power.
btw found a bug it SO teams, there's officially no way to flag, review flags, check flag history (at least for the free tariff), but I was able to manually add a flag button, submit a flag and review it myself (not that it matters really, but a funny thing and also a sneak peek into the mod flag menu)
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar and for blaming XD
@nicael points towards MSO

Which SE site logo is (e) ?
emacs?
zoom in
oh no zoom lol
unfortunately I no longer browse internet with electronic microscope :(
Oh. At this point I am too afraid to ask what's emacs XD

@Wolgwang Basically a sort of notepad++
@Tinkeringbell what's notepad++?

Borked CSS, early April Fool, new design that I don't get...?
@SPArcheon Another innocent victim of SE single minded decisions. My condolences. *Pokes @Sha *
Whoa whoa whoa, is there some reunion party I missed?
12:50
@Wolgwang Let me guess.... option c), right?
Overlords can answer only
13:14
@Wolgwang Already tried with this one ^, says he has no idea.
13:37
My lost soul button disappeared. Anyone else using that script having the same issue or is it just me?
I am also having the same issue.
The script is breaking when it's trying to get the current user's rep (or, for you, probably whether you have the mod diamond button).
It seems those elements have been renamed.
Then it's time to call in reinforcements ;) @Glorfindel please fix? :D
yeah I noticed it too
I was planning to postpone the fix until staff made clear it's staying this way.
Otherwise I can fix it twice ...
Hehehe
Fair point :) I'll survive a bit without it then ;-)
13:42
Hrm, elements weren't renamed, they're just differently-declared. Hyper lame.
@Luuklag @Rob Had you asked(or answered) a question related to horizontal mini scrollbar a few months ago?
@Wolgwang I think so
@Luuklag Can you post the link?
I think Aaron Shekey had commented on it.

Q: Can you spot the scrollbar?

LuuklagWith the winterbash Icon present a scrollbar is introduced on small screensizes. Can you spot it?

@Wolgwang I don't have any new comments

Q: The top bar's Stack Exchange logo is permanently max-width and squeezes out the site switcher on mobile, requiring scrolling to access

doppelgreenerThe newly updated top bar has come with a change that's kind of inconvenient on mobile: the “Stack Exchange” logo is full width always, and this squeezes out the site switcher, requiring people to scroll to find it (if a scroll indicator is even visible to suggest that they can do this). Although...

this is a more recent one

Next.js is powerful yet simple framework, though developers still struggle to increase the speed of their applications. Here’s how you can make those apps faster.

@Wolgwang Nope. I've seen that the end of the Top Bar scrolls (such as during Winter Bash) when there's extra stuff in there; but I don't see an actual scrollbar, just that one can slide the area.
@Wolgwang yummy!
@M.A.R. yes
@SPArcheon new design, sites only. Chat is excluded.
They made the top bar icons flash more brightly, and the actual text much smaller so it's harder to read.
I see why, we should put more efforts reading, it's good eye training.
Like you make sword stronger with fire, they make us stronger with burning eyes.
Thanks, whoever thought of this change. :P
15:01
Hey, lighting a sword on fire is a quick way to ruin the sword. You'd quickly have a butterknife instead of an enemy-cleaving weapon.
On the plus side, though... It's on fire. You've won the coolness contest.
@Spevacus what if the sword is really some sort of laser that extends a meter before deciding to come back or something
@M.A.R. Well that would be totally acceptable. Especially if the wielder of such a weapon is capable of telekinetic powers.
Oh, and maybe throw in some foresight or something. Y'know, for plot.
Oh, wait, what if their powers were a religion?
Also their telekinetic powers allow them to induce hallucinations in their students
Talk about SEAL training
I really can't imagine the worst of my teachers to show up 30 years later in my mind to guide me through something
That'd be very awkward
Like jeez I can just look it up
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar I have two questions. Why is the fire floating? And why is it floating down
That's a top-down view of... Oh, goodness, what did they name that sword?
It ended up being inconsequential to the plot, surprise surprise.
Wait nah that's Oathkeeper. It kinda was important, I guess.
15:14
As far as the books are concerned they didn't need to serve any purpose. They were meant to be symbolic, and had ended up being symbolic, for different reasons, until the end of Dance.
I'd read the books if I wasn't going to have to wait for Winds. :(
Which will probably never be published, and I'm actually okay with that
I'm still going through the stages of grief without ever hitting the "Acceptance" part.
"resigned", more like. But I mean, the books are xbignumber better than the shows
15:38
I believe it. I've gotta hurry up and read 'em, I just dislike that I'd be reading up to something that's unfinished.
That said, I've been reading the Stormlight Archive, and it's pretty awesome.
Its latest books aren't finished but Sanderson has a good track record of working on them, so hey.
@Spevacus Think about it though. 4200 pages. At that point how much does it matter that it's unfinished?
>:( A lot!
It makes perfect sense that you would be upset that it's unfinished. So it's surprising when you find out you're not that annoyed after you do finish it
Well, in my case.
A ride without an ending is just a ride. I might enjoy it, but instead of it having a happy blissful ending where I get off at the exit of the ride, I sit right before another loop, stopped eternally where the story's stopped.
That's I think part of the point I'm making though. So many loops that you're like, okay, GRRM could rant about the weather and I could read it and it'd be really great. With the books, I felt like it was a lot about what was happening and not much about where it was gonna lead to.
15:48
Mmm... I get that. That's fair.
16:36
Has there been a question how does one upload images via mobile chat?

VaillancourtIt appears that the new design that has been rolled out recently forces a frame with a white background when displaying the user avatar at the top of the page. I'm kind of forced to use gravatar to host my image because hosting it on stack.imgur will not allow transparency. Here is how my image a...

wow
@Luuklag And here I thought it was a cache issue.
Well, it's ugly and amateurish at best, but at least it doesn't cause a genuine usability issue for me.
But then again, I have good vision. I'm seeing some people on MSE who are saying this is worse for their eyes as they're older.
Why is "Jivam" a bad keyword?
What does it even mean?

@M.A.R. I'm like 80% sure you're joking, but is it actually something offensive? Google Translate's not coming up with anything.
@RyanM not even a day as a mod and you're already in trouble... 🤣
@Catija Does it count if no one's calling me out on Meta yet? ;-)
True. You're not really a mod until then.
23:55
@RyanM Well NOW I wanna call you out on meta because you ruined the lame joke
I will tell the world about this humorless eliti . . . Nah too lazy.
