@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Well - kinda but... this is very much a moderation issue, so we'll deal with it.

@DavidPostill This goes for everyone else as well, because it's not really fair if we say to one user to 'stop harping on about this' yet allow other users to start conversations about it.

still curious why Chat.SE is somewhat popular compared to other chat sites...

2:20 PM
@MetaAndrewT. well - it 'works'
It used to be easy to find (so we have a fairly good initial user base that grows slowly) and its almost like IRC but not :D

@MetaAndrewT. Inertia. "I have an account, I may as well as chat here"
also... popular? I wouldn't describe the amount of messages chat gets as "being popular"

well, perhaps not "popular", but more like "this is my chat room, i can do anything, har har." (while it's still restricted to SE's TOS :)

2:35 PM
@MetaAndrewT. eh, kinda true of IRC too, with less restrictions
and most activity happens in main rooms

Am I mistaken or chat search utterly breaks with more of 200 (or maybe 250 - should check again) pages of results?

in what way
seems to work fine with 300+ for me
just no results on the later pages?

that is the point. After a certain page all results are empty

yup
if i'm not mistaken it's been like that for a long time
for me it stops at 4000 results
anything after that doesn't get returned

There is a cut-off on main site search as well. It is way higher IIRC.
I guess the same goes for chat search

@Rob can't choose what vaccine to get, and Israel got only one type anyway. It's still unclear how effective it is against variants, only time will tell. We got few new cases from India now here in Israel, so in couple of weeks we'll know how effective the vaccine is against it, i.e. if there will be new wave.... it means vaccine goes poof against variants and we're back in square one. But really hope that won't happen.

6:06 PM
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard the indian variant dosen't seem worse than original (i got it recently)

@BabaYaga the nasty thing about the variants isn't their severity per-infected, it's because the infection rate is much higher, and possibly existing vaccines aren't effective for them.

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard how do u make this?

When we got the British variant in Israel during third wave, the amount of infected per day made huge leap.
From 2k to 10k, in few days.
@BabaYaga food.walla.co.il/recipe/644881 (hopefully Google Translate can help ;))

Rob
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard Search says that you got Pfizer, testing says that's unfortunate - see that chart.

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard thanks

6:31 PM
@BabaYaga :)
The key for good taste is the soup though.
That's not explained clearly in the recipe.
Those I made yesterday were boiled in Hummus soup, it gave special taste. 20 balls consumed in two days. :D
@Rob yup. We can still hope though, and our Department of Health making fruitless attempts to demand quarantine for those coming back from places with variants.
Of course it failed, and the infected roam free.

Rob
In other places, where people have been vaccinated, they are getting hit with the varients; despite having been vaccinated already.
They have extreme density, and poor social distancing.
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard You're a baller!

Hey @JourneymanGeek I was just listening to some interviews of JJ Lin, do you know why he doesn't have a Singaporean accent? It sounds pretty American to me.
