Not sure here in chat.meta and chat.stackoverflow, but when I was mentioned, the count is not aligned with the circle thingy

4:24 AM
Is there a sandbox SE site?

1 hour later…
@Feeds Who is building onebox for the blog articles?

6:44 AM
@MetaAndrewT. nobody
@soupless nope

Q: Is there a fake Stack Exchange sandbox site I can use for my students to practice posting and voting?

Phillip SennPossible duplicate of Can we get a Stack Exchange sandbox? I'd like to make an assignment for my students to login to a Stack Exchange site, ask a question and upvote a fellow student's question. Short of my implementing one in-house, is there perhaps a sandbox that we can play in?

7:12 AM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Ok, thank you. I was about to try posting a question in Math or Math Meta, but thought if there was such a site.

7:30 AM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I want to try it in the question title but it may be closed as spam or something.

Nope, definitely the right target.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog how so? Please explain.
I see 0 relation.
@soupless titles don't support markdown or mathjax, if that's what you mean.

It's a rant about the team not responding to bug reports. Linking them to the proper way to get attention for them. The answer there also states that Area 51 reports are unlikely to be actioned.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Math.SE does support MathJax.

@Journ spammer for you to nuke, or do somerhing nsfw with: stackexchange.com/users/23213214/goa-dreams?tab=accounts

7:39 AM
@soupless in the title? Huh, interesting.
So what you want to test?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 No, titles do support MathJax.

@Luuklag chew their fingers?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 you can call them and see what the options are ;)

Negative spaces. I noticed that \quad works. Surely, \! will work, too. It worked. I want to try this in the title, but I am not sure if the community will accept such a test.

It's why that site accounts for the majority of HNQ removals across the network - good questions' titles use MathJax, but for technical reasons questions that do so are excluded from HNQ, so the algorithm picks lower-quality questions.

7:41 AM
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog oh, I see your point now but IMO too big of a leap. I don't consider this as duplicate.
@soupless you can post this in the meta site of Math.SE with body like "Testing title, please ignore this question" then delete it right away after posting.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog honestly they should ban all questions with a dollarsign in the title from HNQ.

@Luuklag huh, saw this only now lol. Profile itself is NSFW

There is precedent for similar closures. We routinely close feature requests asking for mandatory comments on downvotes as duplicates of a support question explaining why it's a bad idea, and discussions and support questions asking why a specific request hasn't been actioned yet as duplicates of the original request.
I think it's fine to close a general rant about them not actioning requests as a duplicate of a question that explains how to properly get attention.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog well we disagree on this one, all good.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Thank you very much.

7:53 AM
@soupless so you did it? :)

Not yet. I am in a class right now.

giving soup to @soupless
@soupless you write in chat during class?! reporting to the teacher

I am searching for answers when the teacher asks impromptu questions.
I am also searching for information to ask for the teacher.

LOL, found your teacher! (warning! semi NSFW link in case you try it as well)

That is not me, unfortunately

7:57 AM
@soupless sure, it's your teacher. :D

Not sure why the reply count is not aligned
It's on me, though
Even the spacing of fonts in the font list in Google Docs is ruined

8:12 AM
@soupless most likely zoom
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 test

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Test
Not sure why it is like that now

hmm no, zoom doesn't cause this
Next suspect: Big Fonts used by the system, perhaps?
(won't try it, requires Restart, too lazy)
Talking about those settings:
@soupless ^

No, I didn't change it. It still remains at 100%

hmm
Next suspect: Font used by your browser

I'll try to send the pic I sent from Google Docs.
It looks cursed.

Hey Jnat stuck his head in the door, but left silently again ;)

@Glorfindel perhpas you can also protect the question you just tagged status-review. To prevent other questionable answers to this sensitive subject

meh, I trust most Meta participants to be civilized

I’d like to test if there’s any maximum character limits for suggested edits (to add to the new post on meta), can I edit suggest an edit to one of y’all’s posts on the sandbox?

4:36 PM
@EkadhSingh-ReinstateMonica Why?

> to add to the new post on meta

To quote the sterotypical toddler - "Why?"

for the sake of documenting things noone cares about

@JourneymanGeek to quote the stereotypical teenager - “Why not?”

Well - fundamentally edits should (theoratically) be substancial but not change the post totally
we don't judge edits by lines of change

4:41 PM
Sure, but I just want to test if there’s any software that does judge edits by lines of change.

4:59 PM
Yeah I don't really get the point of documenting the minimum and maximum character lengths for various inputs across the site's tooling, with the notable exception of complaining about the moderator flag reply message and suggested edit rejection reason character maximums.

I mean, it wouldn't be the first faq documenting useless things about the software that powers the community

True, true

since I am pretty sure someone in the staff knows who Ed is... and since most do not go to anime...
Let's share this here
You can thank Netflix department of horrible live action adaptations..

7:02 PM
@SPArcheon I rather liked the live action show :D

@SPArcheon If Ed's arms can't move like spaghetti, it's just not Ed.
@JourneymanGeek You've watched the full live action show first season already? I think we've only done the first 2-3 episodes.

9:17 PM
@Catija uh yeah
I had a full weekend and uh. It just happened 😅

@Rob No spoilers :D

That video is posted with a 'time to start at' which is the portion of the video where it explains how the animation was adapted to real life - so that section isn't as much a spoiler as the rest of the video.

A: Is the change in the site logo in Chat intentional?

Adam Leartl;dr That was my bad, sorry for the confusion. You should see full logos in chat again for sites that have custom designs. Sites that are using the shared default site design will still have the icon only. But why? First, some background. All Q&A sites and styles follow the same pattern in terms...
