Not sure enough it's an exact enough dupe to hammer but feels like op ought to have done a bit more homework

1:58 AM
Does webapps.SE handle spreadsheet questions if they require programming?
That one may or may not; I'm really not good enough with Sheets to know.

2 hours later…
3:50 AM
@RyanM its worth asking n webapps, and not overthinking the data scraping

Makes sense

4:22 AM
Just tried writing an answer on MSE with new editor, in full markdown, without seeing the preview...

Whoo, exactly 4321 MSE rep \o/
However briefly that may last :-)

4:40 AM
lol
I am close to 100k but I need one accept on my end, one downvote and N upvotes to get 99999 exactly

4:52 AM
@JourneymanGeek two downvotes, four upvotes would do it...quick, post something controversial.

lol
its the +1 that's tricky :D

If +1 is difficult, then get -9! (i.e. downvote 9 answers ._.)

99,963 - 4 (2 downvotes) + 40 (4 upvotes) would be 99999
no need for a +1

5:12 AM
heh
I get random downvotes anyway :D
@MetaAndrewT. I don't want to DV that many :D
found something to accept :D

@Ollie no, answers paging is limited only to changing the page, not page size. Guess userscript can do what you want, though it won't be trivial at all.
Anyway, watched a really good movie last night (on TV, cinema still closed) - The Hunt. Anyone else watched it? :)

Should the edit to this question be rolled back? It significantly changes the intent, and borderline invalidates answers.

8:22 AM
@RyanM yuuuup

@Tinkeringbell Thanks, you rolled it back much more skillfully than I would have :-)

Practice... maybe doesn't make perfect but at least there's a routine ;)

@Tinkeringbell you remind me of that show auction hunters right now

Oops. I'll try to watch my language :P

8:29 AM
I know it, I've been bored too :P

haha
All my answers on the alpha test are doing great for my silver badge

:D I wrote two so far, mostly related to keeping the preview ;)
I might add in a third if it's not reported yet.

I only need to write 24 more discussion answers to get that badge xD

@Luuklag I was definitely thinking that...

@Tinkeringbell I have 8 now

8:32 AM
Surely I can find checks 169 more things to improve about the new editor, right?
then I'll just wait for the 724 upvotes to roll in

@RyanM going for the gold badge
Thats less then 6 votes per answer, that isn't too unrealistic

Gotta go big or go home
...and I'm already home, so...

@RyanM I guess most people are these days

@Luuklag Want another? ;)

No need really Tink, if you have one you can write it, I'm a tad busy today

8:36 AM
(y)

Amusingly, is now my #3 tag...it'll likely be #2 in a day or two

2 more answers and 26 more votes and I'd get a product-discovery bronze badge, and a featured one too ;)
too bad mod tags are exempt from tagbadges

@RyanM you love to discover products... ;)

I would love to be a gold badge holder in

8:45 AM
@RyanM Well Ryan, thanks to your comments on my previous answer I made another feature request XD

My next tag badge would be the bronze feature request (2 more answers), then the silver discussion badge (13 more answers)

@RyanM Hmm then it just doesn't show up in the selector on your profile

@rene Only Shog9 is so decorated.

Glorfindel should write 8 more answers to get a bronze badge: meta.stackexchange.com/tags/product-discovery/topusers

8:52 AM
@Luuklag Sadly, there must be 100 questions in a tag for badges to be awarded.

@RyanM Well that's the reason they don't show up then xD

@RyanM Ha! Champion

Champignon?

@Luuklag Only if its from the Champignon region of france. I don't encourage people to eat sparkling mushrooms tho

8:55 AM
Lampion

Mapignon

@SonictheCuriouserHedgehog We've got an editor on Stack Overflow taking a page out of your book... Anonymous had 664 edit suggestions approved, and 28 edit suggestions rejected

Might max out my reputationgain for a third day on a row

@Luuklag Nice!

A: Is there a maximum number of answers to one question?

Martijn PietersThere is no limit other than the limits on the total number of posts in site. An answer is a type of post, but one with a parent question foreign key. 11:17 AM
@Tinkeringbell Done already :)

That was quick ;)
I need 3 or 4 more votes to rep-cap today. I think they'll roll in over the course of the day though :)

Rob
11:38 AM
I thought people were working on their silver Sportsmanship badge, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I don't need to, it'll come naturally ;)

@Tinkeringbell like pee. :-D
That announcement is real rep fest though, and for a good cause. Win-win!

Rob
12:37 PM
The question has pulled ahead with 94 score for 68 answers, shortly after it was posted it had only ~30 score with over 30 answers.
If triaging, and if necessary effecting repairs for an answer, costs an average of U$15 then that's over a thousand bucks so far.

@Rob I don't know how much you intend to pay devs, but for EUR15 I would bill you for just under 6 mins
anyone else notices the discrepancy in the number of answers for the sandbox?
On the question overview it shows that there are 134 answers
When opening the question above the first answer it says there are 221 answers

12:57 PM
@Luuklag welcome to deleted answers :)

I was thinking as much

huh, deleted.

@Luuklag Why stop at three? Go for 5 ;)
@MetaAndrewT. Shog's posted an answer!

I did it 😁

sdc congrats Journeyman

@Ollie No such command 'congrats'.

Oh come on @SmokeDetector, just this once?
Well, congrats Journeyman, on reaching six digits!

I just did it...! Writing [link description](https://example.com/url-to-link) in rich-text mode directly and got confused why it's not linked >_<

6:02 PM
@MetaAndrewT. I wonder if there needs to be a more obvious visual indicator of the mode
@Ollie or more precisely 99 999 ... So not quite reaching it 🤣

@JourneymanGeek Baah, it's within the rounding error. One upvote will clear that hurdle.

@JourneymanGeek I guess the label/switch placement... "Markdown" label on the left, but it's enabled on the right.
I thought I'm on the markdown mode when the switch is on the left 🙃

@Ollie yeah but it's perfect number 🤣

Should this be on MSU?
If so, please flag it as off-topic so I can finally test an item in the new close-vote queue ;)
Ehh

6:27 PM

Rob
@MetaAndrewT. Thanks (10K link to your comment), actually it's phase 3.

I admit the Where on the table are unclear (are Phase 2's sites including Phase 1's?) ;p

Rob
It's really not clear that the History isn't covered in Phase 1; but they can read it, they can undelete it. :)

Rob
6:50 PM
@Luuklag They pay ~U$130K/year, so that's ~10 minutes; BTW: I left the computer industry just before DotCom, earning 400/half day (which is a benefit over working a full day).

Not bad, I only get to bill it (not in IT btw), paycheck is a different story unfortunately
@JourneymanGeek nice job

Rob
7:12 PM
Yes, nowadays with global competition they pay nothing. In those days (years later) we had the Gopher Protocol, it wasn't until even more years later that we had HTTP; using 2400 baud modems (so slow you could just barely read it as the screen filled).

@Rob I can only recall the dial-up modems over slow coper cable, being a couple of K's from the nearest signal box
Made for a great experience
epsecially when someone needed to use the phone
Thats as far back as I go xD
Would be around the time of the dotcom I think

Rob
@Luuklag Don't you hate that, geez don't pick up the extension it screws up my call.

My dad ran his own buisness, so we couldn't use internet most of the time, because he needed to be reachable
Untill ISDN came, and you could both call and use the internet at the same time
that was mindbreaking back then
And all the panic about the Y2K bug, that even made national news headlines for a couple of days

Rob
I checked the inflation calculator, that much would be doubled by now; but there's no chance of getting that kind of money today
It looks like '93-'95 was the start of the fall; too many people could do the work and not enough places to work at.

@Rob These days people are hard to come by judging the job adverts here in NL
We had an IT company in our building for a while that only had 2 staffmembers here, and outsourced the rest to Nepal
they could do the job for less then half the money a regular company could

Rob
7:31 PM
@Luuklag Glassdoor says that the average pay is: €62,128 / yr, or U$75,400 / yr; for Software Developer in Amsterdam. The Cost of Living is another factor, along with taxes and healthcare etc. - Can't just compare the numbers straight across.

True, healthcare would be around 150-250 a month, depending on what coverage you want.
Taxes would be about 1/3

Rob
In San Francisco you'd need to earn triple that to be a bum.

@Rob yeah true

@MetaAndrewT. nice table in there that isn't readable in mobile

Blog was never mobile friendly...

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating It's just the tables, the rest is pretty responsive
Does anyone know if there will be a blogpost feedback post?

@Luuklag yeah but they put tables in almost every post...

9:09 PM
@Luuklag yes, there will

9:34 PM
@YaakovEllis then ill wait for that to complain about the non-responsive table that is partly off screen
Also good to see your still around Yaakov, haven't seen much of you on the site lately. Your still doing good despite the pandemic?
