@TimPost Disgusting. I demand vegan software.

@FTP Hey, not all pro-tems get elected...

user315433
True. PPCG was an interesting case: they somehow acquired 6 pro tems by the time of 1st election. So even with 4 open slots, no room for newcomers.

user315433
Don't want to spend delete votes: one downvote on "mathematics for computer science" Group or solutions (SO) would be enough.

@FTP Weird... I guess there were a couple of inactive protems? Otherwise, I'm not sure why they'd drop down to only four... though, I guess the voting with that many slots could be a bit weird...

user315433
I don't think there was ever an election with more than 4 open slots.

user315433
12:11 AM
Additional mods called up later, sure. But never more than 4 elected at one time, and 4 is rare.

I'd think that it'd not be too rare on first elections from beta to Graduated? Seems like a decent number of beta sites have four mods to start.

@Catija I think on SR.SE 2 of the 3 pro tems didn't stand ;p

That happens, too. :)

It's often that betas have four mods, but it's not that often that the first election has four slots.

2:06 AM
@FTP They've been rare of late :) But PPCG had, as you said... six? So I suppose it makes sense.

2:19 AM
I guess it's morning, but I'm not sure if this is a real world...
meow

It's probably a real world... whether it's the real world... is up for debate.

2:46 AM
is this the real world? is this just fantasy... caught in the landslide, no escape from reality.

@Shog9 Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see....

and realised that your tent got stolen

That sir. Would have you eggwashed, breaded and fried. Cause tarring and feathering is too good for you.

user202362
caught a possum stealing plums in the backyard last night - it jumped off the plum tree and ran along the fence as I walked into backyard

user202362
3:05 AM
I would make an awful farmer - bought 3 baby chicks and realised that they might be cockerels, planted a tree that produced the thickest skinned plums I have eaten. Luckily I only do those for hobby, otherwise I would go broke and become a real hobo ...

3:34 AM
I would make an awful daydreamer then... dreaming of 3 baby chicks that might be cockerels...

for c#. I think the special symbol destroy it

@OptimusPrime It has destroyed many developer hours, sure. In general it has worked (and does now).

Unclear what you're asking. Title seems like a valid question (albeit a dupe), but the question body is a totally different, off-topic question. I prefer "unclear what you're asking" to provide better guidance; it looks like they just copied and pasted text from the question they were trying to edit: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/307218/…
@SmokeDetector tpu-
@Ano It looks like he simply posted his intended Markdown without explicitly indicating the problem in the body. I still stand by the "unclear what you're asking" close reason.

9:04 AM
I also vtc'ed as unclear... and might become no-repro...

Why did this question from the 13th most popular SOer attract so many downvotes? I'm not a web guy, is it that bad?

10:03 AM
Because it feels like the same type of questions that newbies shovel in by the dozen these days, perhaps

@JohnDvorak Seems plausible. It just amuses me that people became this negative about it.

@JohnDvorak yep

OP claimed that they accidentally left the question text out, and added it back: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/307218/…

@Ano Also, it's not a dupe; the target I was thinking of was the same error but a wholly different cause.

> There is a single good thing you get from working with SharePoint. Every time you have to ask an horrid question and someone nitpicks by saying that your idea is against coding best practices... just say "SharePoint" and even the most extremist code style inquisitors will just drop the argument.

I'm hearing sharepoint in the camp fire horror story voice every time you guys type that

Whenever I hear about camp stories I remember that line from Portal 2

An Android app that consumes PHP web service and using Sharepoint as its data storage?

That's the whole trifecta.

it's never scary next to a camp fire

you forgot Oracle

although I yet to camp in a place with wolves, lions or tigers

May the force be with him ...

well, I've given the servers a thorough kicking; I'll be trawling through logs trying to figure out what happened for a bit :(

The server beatings will continue until engine performance improves.

I would have hoped I could repro this is a reliable way but have failed to do so, sorry.

I doubt it'd be anything you could repro deliberately without insight into the backend stuff.

Don't under estimate my ability to break things for you ...

@ShadowWizard I think Derpy means that since I'm changing my username, it would be the perfect timing for you to change too. Just guessing tho :D

@RougetheBat whoa... you can understand @Derpy better than I do... guess you're a better pony than me! :D

Y'all change your usernames too much.
:D

@Catija One does not simply change ones username TOO OFTEN! There's no such thing!
:D

At least @ShadowWizard Is easily recognizable because it has the same root.

@ShadowWizard No, I just know the context :D

@Catija yup I'll always be @Sha :P

9:00 PM
Not calling you an "it"... the "it" there is the username...

@Catija and then there are those of us with thousands of names :D

@RougetheBat As long as you don't expect me to recognize you.
:P

naw, you'll recognize me from my user ID :P

I don't even recognize myself from my user ID.

Because it's more common reading user IDs than names :P
@ShadowWizard I'm a better wolf :D

wtb anonymous iterators

Anonymous iterators is not a good idea. They're better off as a separate class instead of a single-use one

Why?

@JohnDvorak why are they better off as they are or why would I want one?

if the iterator is re-used, it has to be re-written when reused if it's an anonymous one

Code example @RougetheBat?

9:54 PM
Any anonymous iterator will do, there's no need for an example

and anonymous iterators are a pain to pass data to

@canon Depending on what you're trying to do, Enumerable.Range() can be somewhat helpful
