@rene Nope, not saying that at all. Since we didn't have a PM for quite a while, a lot of requests from the community team got pushed, so they are trying to clear the backlog of items.

However, this includes perfectly normal and desirable aging of votes/flags after the post was reviewed and deemed ok. I didn't see any stats on review tasks that were aged unfinished.

Meta Question, maybe? Looks like SEDE can't tell us why a review task got "invalidated" - was it because the question got OP-deleted, or closed directly from the site, or the task aged. (Then again, it's possible CMs are in about the same position regarding the data.)

I guess the number of invalidated close review regarding the posts that stayed open and non-deleted would be a good indicator.

@rene I think this is something we can find. With this query I got 222279 invalidated close reviews where question stays open, since 2017-01-01. Compared to total close reviews (276812, second query result), this is 80%.

It does overcount a bit by including the tasks that resulted in question closure that was later overturned by reopening; but those are small in number.

If starting with 2016-01-01, I get 584790/726631, still 80%.

My take-away is that most close votes are sporadic and fall on questions that don't really, absolutely, have to be closed for the love of all that is good. Let 'em age.
