Rant of the Day. While reviewing the security policies assigned to various apps/driver by one of the many security suites (not going to name it, no need for advertisement) I notice a file called "{a6d608f0-0bde-491a-97ae-5c4b05d86e01}.bat". Turns out the file is part of some Intel Graphics drive and not a virus like I immediately assumed based on the weird name.

Thanks Intel. I guess giving the file a name that relates in any way to its purpose is beyond your capabilities.

@Desire I kind of have a vague idea why they would use a temporary guid until a username is chosen /generated. What I don't get is why you would use the same guid. I don't think Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); is extremely expensive, CPU/memory wise.

well, they could easily solve the problem by assigning each new user a temporary default name generated using one of the many "Pony OC Name Generator" you can find online....

@rene Think about the possibilities: instead of lame GUID-named users you get names like Shinning Bell, Sweetie Sparkle, Twilight Pie etc..... (and obviously all the names will just be permutations of actual names in the show)

@ShaWizDowArd I either try to watch the episodes / movies in their original language or if that is impossible I try to find the "lesser worse" dub. And the MLP foreign language dubs are famous for their poor quality.

Europe may be the worse.

They managed to have a voice reading the ending credits for Rainbow Rocks. Those credits also featured a song that is nowhere to be heard in the movie. This means that they butchered the only version of that song by overplaying some random guy talking over it....

and it wasn't even a single isolated event. Multiple EU regions did that. The wikia shows that at least Germany, France and Italy followed this route.

That said, nothing to be surprised of. The EU release of the Season 1 DVD Box set had bad audio sync, out of order episodes, poor video quality and the such. Newer seasons weren't ever released. Do your math.

@ShaWizDowArd Yes, it is. But the original region is America, so everyone outside America has to wait. And yes, they also managed to do some redub work that replaced the original English voiceover with another English voiceover.

Now, people like @bart will probably say that American English is different from UK English..... but does this really deserve a new dub (and a very poor quality one)?

Unrelated to this, I just remembered in the early life of Indonesian Animax TV channel (English dub, Indonesian sub), when a character says "kuso!", the English dubbed it "shoot!", and thus Indonesian subbed it "tembak!" (as in shooting a gun)... when actually it should be dubbed/subbed as "damn!"/"sial!" (expletive)

@Success There is a scene in Dragonball... Goku and Piccolo have to synchronize to launch an energy wave at the same time. Goku proceeds to count three but replaces the numbers with the names of his sons if I recall correctly. So it goes "Goku-Gohan-Goten". Now, you may also know that Dragonball names are almost always thematic.

(Gohan meaning rice in japanese). Some dubs had Goku count foods because of this... so the count goes like Rice! Ramen! Tempura!

I have seen this happen several times now, that users ask a question and are not satisfied with the answers and create a new account to ask "same" question again. If we put a low rep point limit to post questions, for example 25 points. You can't just create a new account and try again. 25 ...
