@bjb568 no, they are not - they are related though, but global warming refers to the overall heating of the Earth and associated effects and climate change is far more complex, eg shifting weather patterns, long term temperature changes etc. of which changing temperature regimes are a part.
@santiago global warming is just the old name for climate change. They're the same macroscopic weather effect caused by human activities.
Or maybe if you want to be pedantic, you could attribute climate change to global warming to human effect. But X because climate change and X because global warming would be equivalent.

anyway, a friend of mine (a climate scientist) has clarified it nicely for me, so I will take the word of a scientist of that field over the opinion of a kid on the internet any and every day (no offence intended).
