When you order /questions page by "active", the timestamps are the last activity, and the user names are those with last activity.
When you order /questions page by "newest", the timestamps are creation dates, and the user names are those who posted.

user259867
But when you order favorite questions (in a profile) by "newest", the timestamps are the last activity, and the user names are those with last activity. Bug?

@NormalHuman couldn't find a dup, it's definitely inconsistency bug

Thanks, will post.

user259867
I'm still a little uneasy about the favoriting activity of Normal Bot, which currently favorites a question by 1K user every minute. No problem on the API side (60*24 very simple requests per day), it's just how easy it is to post a lot of stuff algorithmically...

user259867
I mean, I could have told it to downvote every question by a 1 rep user... which would probably save me time, and have about the same result as my normal activity.

@NormalHuman Why would it do that?

user259867
12:41 AM
Because there was a feature request: See questions recently posed by "high-rep" users by Clayton on meta.math.stackexchange.com and I wanted to help.

user259867
One can now add "infavorites:274339" to any search string to restrict results to questions by 1K users. Of course, it's not all questions yet: I only started marking them, moving from September 1 forward.

user259867
But I already see that infavorites:274339 answers:0 intags:mine brings up some pretty good stuff.

Interesting.

1:15 AM
@NormalHuman FYI “accept rate” (or “accept-rate”, and probably other variants) is also an instant comment zapper on SO with a Not Constructive flag.

user259867
I think it's any flag (perhaps except "other"). I didn't know about the hyphenated version. The whitespace version is listed in my catalog, meta.stackexchange.com/q/238835 (and it's network-wide)

user259867
Coincidentally, I was surprised today when "what have you tried so far?" disappeared on Math after one obsolete flag (it was obsolete indeed). My impression was that this criterion is SO-specific.

devdoodle.net/login awesome revamped login page is out!
^ there should be a slash after login, but SE markdown strips it

user259867
Left margin would not hurt.

It has like 6px of it

1:23 AM
@NormalHuman It's possible that they're doing one of those alphabetic-only comparisons which discounts non-alphabetics again.
I approve of the spoiler treatment.

user259867
Possible. Anyway, WHYT seems to be network-wide now: also worked for me on SU.

user259867
Yay. More helpful flags => higher daily limit for spam.

user259867
(This was why I flagged a bunch of comments on Travel earlier.)

I was just thinking about all that.
Weird that whore might be SO-only.

user259867
I'm going to try that one next.

1:30 AM
Well, a true positive will get zapped soon enough anyway.
Are you coordinating with a site mod so you don't accidentally annoy anyone?
Oh you know, rep whores might be common.

user259867
Yay, it worked on Math.

user259867
I'm not coordinating with mods; auto-nukes don't bother them, and if it doesn't work, I stop trying.

user259867
One extra flag won't kill them.

heh

user259867
I also downvote those questions (unless they were improved) as I nuke comments.

user259867
1:34 AM
This really should be automatic: a WHYT comment gets auto-converted to downvote.

I assume the downvote comes only after the nuke attempt?
Rather, yours.
So that you can infer side effects.
ELU has a lot of instances of whore in comments. Of course these are mentions not uses.

user259867
It comes because the questions that tend to received WHYT comments from others tend to receive downvotes from me. In some cases they already had mine.

Such things on SO makes shooting fish in a barrel seem akin to starving to death from want of catfood.

user259867
bitch still doesn't work, though.

Have you tried with just plain accept alone? It apparently use to work network-wide.
Perhaps not.

It got started at U of Rochester, Michael Gage leading the project github.com/mgage And it still works, but a free product developed in spare time by people with full-time teaching loads finds it hard to stay competitive with things like WebAssign, funded by hefty student fees from around the country.

Ebook is worthless, btw. The physical book has large page format, to which ebook corresponds; viewing it through their interface, one sees a small chunk of the page at a time. With no easy backtracking or comparison of text here and there, it's not good for studying math, at all.

owwww

Aren't ebooks generally useless for textbooks?

user259867
2:55 AM
Depends on format/interface, but generally yes. They're okay for looking up homework problems. (Which in case of WebAssign pack is moot, since HW is in WebAssign.)

Q: You can send empty messages in chat

United States Of AmericaYou can send empty messages in chat! Example here. You get this by selecting the text box, hitting tab, then hitting backspace. Please fix it as its annoying. Also, this does not send spaces, it seems to send empty characters. (Using ubuntu with firefox)
