@holroy Rolling back simply generates a new revision, it does not erase any existing revisions

rev A -> rev B -> rollback to A generates new revision C with contents of A

It has however taken some time for the revision to be deleted, but I guess the employees has quite a lot to deal with considering the high amount of traffic on the SE sites
