12:03 AM
nice to see an opinion based blog piece that i agree with blog.stackoverflow.com/2015/01/…
although the glass walls look cool/stylish, it doesn't really resemble trusting employees. Have regular walls, or glass/windows only at the top if need be for better light.

user259867
@hichris123 Yes, I think it makes sense. They don't follow the conventions of human language, so an attempt to analyze code like text is not going to anything good.

@bluet But have a glass floor to keep the kewlness.
Make it curved too.

@bluet It's partially for light and partially for the fairly spectacular view of lower Manhattan. Most of the pictures are actually of one cluster of offices that happen to face into a semi-public area. I've never worked in one, but I've been told the glass hexagon office is not as odd as it seems.'

@Fundamental Looks like it works. Except for cases like this where people can't format correctly. :P

user259867
Yeah, it's not going to detect unformatted code.

12:12 AM

Okay, hopefully this will be better.
!!/rev
... oh, right.
I'll probably revert that soon.
@Fundamental ^
Also, what do you think about blockquotes?
Also: another Chrome patch of mine landed in Canary today. :D

12:38 AM
@hichris123 CVS?

@hichris123 See, outsourcing my complaints to you is far easier than attempting any patches myself!
Laziness level: +1

@Braiam huh? Chrome uses git.
@TimStone It was a dictionary patch. :P (i.e. spellcheck should be better now)

\o/

Which reminds me, I should close those bugs...

user259867
@hichris123 blockquotes are used for everything, I don't see any reason to treat them in a special way

12:42 AM
ok

user259867
If there is a fp because of that, the post probably needs an edit or a DV or a CV...

user259867
I guess that one is just a rare exception that doesn't.

@hichris123 CVE sorry

@Braiam Ah. :P Nothing that big, just as I told Tim some spellcheck updates.

12:59 AM
@hichris123 please do something with the memory consumption...

1:11 AM
@Braiam I'll look and see if there are any open bugs about it.

@hichris123 So, 3/3 true positives. Turn it on here?

@Fundamental Yeah, after I push this last commit & make sure it doesn't break anything.
Blacklisted users should work now. I'm fairly sure they were broken since the beginning. :P

user259867
Interestingly, the last offensive post did have a code block... but the offensive part was outside of it.

user259867
Jan 4 at 17:25, by ProgramFOX
@Behaviour By the way, this might explain why we never had any reports for blacklisted users -- that feature was broken for the same reason (and is also fixed now).

yup
@Fundamental It was still broken after that. We checked for it in checkifspam, but not in handlespam.
So it might have been posted, but it wouldn't have said "blacklisted user"

From what I gather on SO things only appear on the "real" close queue if the have more than one close vote, but do close flags push it there too? Anyone seen an old question for example there with only a single (or no) actual close votes?

yes, flags push it there too. I have seen some question in the queue that did not have any close votes. Those probably have some flags.

Sam
1:29 PM
@PeterJ I've seen a few reviews without any CVs.

@PeterJ I believe single flags pushes it into the queue, but only at least two close-flags lifts it beyond the "arrange by chronological order" barrier.
It may or may not be my superstition over documented behaviour.

Thanks, I knew on smaller sites without the backlog they'd appear on the queue but wondered about SO. Sometimes have noticed a few like the following that sit around a while: stackoverflow.com/questions/27868643/…

MY GOD, IT'S FULL OF STARS AND BOTS AND BORKS!

@bjb568 Because you used square brackets.
Client-side tries to render shortlinks if any, like [meta.se].
The little bit of time taken to render such messages causes the loading icon to appear before getting sent to the server.

huh
Why can't it just do a replace? Seems simple enough…

Because replacing doesn't trigger DOM events. I think.
Try write something like [1][2][3][4][5][6], they keep the loading icon on for slightly longer.
