> Amen, brother. Heck, I use a wireless headset so that even when I'm in a hangout I can walk around, go outside, etc. Don't ask me to think about something and then sit still while doing so; you'll get whatever lazy answer I can come up with quickest - or no answer at all. - @Shog9, 1 hour ago on Hacker News

I noticed this in that chat-cast you guys posted to YouTube. IIRC I thought you looked distracted. :P

@jadarnel27 pardon, testing if pings work in links.

Looks like they do.

@ThiefMaster What then if the new Sex proposal works out? http://sex.sex/?

1:54 AM
Geez
I thought my being irresponsible with the internet today was responsible for Twitter thinking my account was hacked.
And it was just their fault.

@mootinator Oh, it was? I thought it was my use of a 5-character english-word password. What a relief!
@JeremyBanks Yeah. I'm seriously 90% worthless sitting still.
If it wasn't for the motion of typing, I'd never do anything on a computer.

2:11 AM
@Shog9 And I thought it was my creating an account on a torrent site using the same credentials. O_o.
Because I know, deep down in my heart, King of Nerds being aired a week later in Canada is a grave injustice worthy of intellectual property theft.

Dammit, that's just plain unfair.
Should be aired a week later in the US, too
At least a week

Maybe a month.
I can't help it, it's like the scene of an accident.

2:31 AM
Hey, elections are starting again, but elections.stackexchange.com is still down cc @TimStone @Shog9

again? Dammit...

That reminds me that I saw someone who looked like @Zypher the other day.

@Shog9 It's being down for... about a month now?

Q: stack2rss.stackexchange.com down again

Speravirhttp://stack2rss.stackexchange.com/ and subdomains are unreachable again for some days. Other than last time (What happened to stack2rss.stackexchange.com?) there is no hurrican, at least I didn’t heard of. What happened this time and can this be fixed?

I know they were up for a little bit, 'cause... I used them
but yeah, haven't tried since the last election ended

2:38 AM
Yeah, they were up for a bit, and then...things happened.

*gasp* THINGS

Things you should no doubt feel guilty about.

NooooooOooOoooo I can't stand the crippling guilt!

3:37 AM
Can someone clarify how is:question works? If I search something is:question does the something query now only apply to questions, or does it simply filter out results that are not questions?

Hmm, I assume it's the former.
I have a bug-complaint about how this works in relation to user:me.

3:56 AM
@Shog9 ruining my fun, deleting that off-topic question "just now" before I could get in my vote. :P

Hey, I did close it first.

@JeremyBanks Totally worked!

hrm, is there a CC-style license that basically says "we do not own any content, any submissions remain solely owned by the user who submitted them"?
Or do you just not have a license for a scenario like that?

8:28 AM
Can't you just say something like "copyright belongs to individual submitters and not the owners of this site"?

I think that's the case with all Creative Commons licences (aside from CC0 where allowed). Three author still owns the copyright, CC just defines the time licensing terms. Maybe you meant a non-transferable license allowing the site owner to display the content but nothing else? Pretty sure CC doesn't provide that.

Oh, pardon me, you said "CC-style" .

No, it would be much worse if people had approved it

AU's election is currently the only one that's coming up, right?

Q: "Travel Answers" - to be, or not to be?

Mark MayoThere's been some controversy over the site being called "Travel Answers", with people calling it boring or bland, and not standing out. Look at, for example, Seasoned Advice (the cooking.se site) - a punny, easy to remember name. So, please add alternatives below, and we'll see if we can get s...

Someone might want to tell them to stop wasting their time (unless this is actually SE approved, though I don't see a dev/community manager anywhere)

Nah, let them have their fun ;)

A lot of [election] questions are now coming from Politics.SE

Oh, whoops.
Yeah, the site isn't supposed to use that feed...
The chat room uses this one instead.

Hmmm, there's a local ISP that's offering residential subscribers static IP addresses for a one time fee of $40. You get to keep the address as long as you're subscribed
It could be useful for creating a VNC server.
Or running my own server for... things

Anonymous
That does sound pretty cool. I think my ISP's TOS don't even permit me to reun a server.

ah well, VNC servers are not really "servers" from an ISP point of view
they don't want you to host public websites etc

I don't think there's anything in the ISP's TOS stopping me from running a server, except for the pathetic upstream bandwidth

besides that i wouldn't use VNC anymore anyway. compared to teamviewer it's just ugly. at least the ultravnc client for windows... seems to use blocking socket operations so when the connection is slow the whole window freezes
