12:46 AM
...
I just tried setting up Eclipse on my Windows 7 install and it blew up horribly.
Anyone on call to provide support?

Eh..

1:18 AM
Well, eclipse extracts, but, it refuses to install the Android Developer Tools.

Did you install the SDK first?

@TimStone Yes, I did.
Should I try that again?

I dunno, why isn't it installing the ADT? It should tell you what the problem was.

Also, I installed Eclipse 3.7, the Java 7 JDK. Perhaps I should give 3.5 a go.
Well, it said something about a bunch of dependencies.
I think it couldn't find something.
Just not sure what, or where to point it, or I'd do so.

What are the dependencies?

1:27 AM
I don't recall at the moment.
I do remember a version 12.something, which was the latest version of one of the Android downloads.

Does anybody have a link to @YiJiang's election dashboard thingadongdong

@TimStone Thanks

Aye. He was having some issues being able to update it the other day, not sure if he resolved them or not.

Hrm, downloading the page doesn't seem to get me a working copy of it.
Weird, I thought it was entirely client-side?
Oh. It is. Chrome saved the page keeping references to all the plugins I have running.
That's retarded.
Removing that fixed the page.
...mostly
Now to make it load page 2.
er... er... er...
Morning, Yi.
It seems like one'd have to edit passthru.php to make the thing not load results from /election/1
oh well.
Back to begging @YiJiang to update the thing then!

8:01 AM
@bad Well, like I said I can't seem to ftp into it now

@YiJiang Oh, I guess I didn't receive that memo then.
No chances of getting it back up and running via Dropbox only?

The thing still works, you'll have to wait for the new election to start for it not to load information from the old one
I think

Okay.

Oh. I can see how that would warrant mass-congrats. Congrats!

@balpha You don't get married AT the DevDays, do you?

4:05 PM
@Mvy now you spoiled the surprise!

Does this mean that the Hackathon is really an opportunity for cake?

4:21 PM

@TimStone, if so, the Hackathon is a lie.

I think @Moshe needs to eat more sushi.

Every time I get close to it, a deletion punts me back.

> Having Standard & Poor's downgrade the creditworthiness of the U.S., and warn the country about further downgrades, is a little like having the Catholic Church lecture Scout leaders on the proper behavior toward boys.

hah!!

7:26 PM
@badπ On meta or SO?

@Moshe Meta.

O
I'm nearing 10K on SO.

I just can't find questions I can answer on SO.
Python questions seem all about using weird 3rd party stuff

@badπ Yea, I know the feeling.
Walked into a local video game/repair place for the first time in many months.
Guy recognized me.
Looks like Joel's on G+, but not Jeff.

( or , "the Ninth of Av,") is an annual fast day in Judaism, named for the ninth day (Tisha) of the month of Av in the Hebrew calendar. The fast commemorates the destruction of both the First Temple and Second Temple in Jerusalem, which occurred about 490 years apart, but on the same Hebrew calendar date. Accordingly, the day has been called the "saddest day in Jewish history". Tisha B'Av falls in July or August in the western calendar. When the ninth of Av falls on Saturday, the observance is deferred to Sunday the tenth. While the day recalls general tragedies which have befallen t...

My Optimus T arrived.
Is there a "vanilla" firmware that I can install?

11:11 PM
The one off the source repos should be what you want
You were aware that Android had an open hackable base, right?

@jcolebrand Yes, I am.
I'm looking to unlock this phone, currently locked to T-Mobile.
Any ideas?

On unlocking it?
Contact someone who does sim unlocks

@jcolebrand Suggestions?
What do those cost?

TMobile?

Why do they cost? :-)

11:13 PM
I have no clue

Ok

You are probably in a better place to find out the answer to "how much" where you are than I am here
Also the "why" when you found out the how much and the where
Why have you not hooked up with a local hackerspace?
I am quite certain there are 20 or 30 of those in that city.
ignore the long term connotations of blackhats as well

Don't know, good question.

Go find some hardware junkies man. Get out of the libraries and out of your bedroom
I need ice.

ok
@jcolebrand True. havastar.

A: Please tone down or remove the auto-expansion of the search box

Lance RobertsSince there is blank space underneath the search box, how about just expanding it to a larger textbox with the same width? Of course there's a lot of space between the Global Inbox and the Profile Name, so you could just make it slightly larger to start with, or when widening it just move the el...

Anyone here on T-Mobile?

Just called and they refused to give me that information. It's a little crazy.

I've found telecom companies to be some of the hardest to work with. I just dread making support calls to them.
