Normally, woot.com sells some quantity of only a single product each day. Generally, it's the best price on the web for whatever that product is. When it's sold out, there is nothing to buy on the site until midnight of the next day when the next item goes up.

@AidenBell I um ... have been partially involved in getting the 5 year old niece a netbook, and in providing the 8 year old with an iPhone 3G (new at purchase) and uh ... yeah ...
@drachenstern - well just make sure you install a real distro for the 5 year old. Even a 5 year old isn't braindead enough for Ubuntu ... go with Fedora
My mother-in-law is the one that purchased the netbook for the 5 year old, and I preloaded it with kid friendly DVDs that have been handbrake-d down to iPhone quality, in anticipation of the MIL getting her an iPad in the next year or so ... and her mother also has a laptop, so the kid really has her own netbook ...
the 9 year old has a netbook as well, but he barely uses it, mostly just to do backups of his iPhone when I threaten to take the iPhone away if he doesn't do a backup on it
@PopularDemand so if he goes to visit for an overnighter, he takes it, or if he is going to be in the car for a while, they're much easier to deal with than DVD players or laptops, and can be charged easier, and have games (he's trying to catch up with me on Angry Birds)
they both have about 40 titles to choose from for syncing to their phones on movies, but songs are a little harder to come by, apparently the mom's don't feel the need to invest in quality kids albums, but I don't think they would enjoy using the mp3 player aspect of the things anyways
someone else is doing the funding ... plus it'll be easier to manage and corral everyone when I get them on Mac's in the next two years ... a number of less headaches with this magical incantation "oh, you can't do that on a mac"
