@Unihedro Just wondering; why are we going to use Wikia for the unofficial chat API docs?

@ProgramFOX Now that I think about it, it's better to use static pages.
Which means I gotta learn how to set up FTP on the cloud.

It might even be better to use a GitHub repo that we link with GitHub Pages.
@Unihedro ^

Hmm, while GitHub pages are a good fit I don't believe they make a good tool for documenting features across multiple projects.

@Unihedro Why not?

10:57 AM
@ProgramFOX GitHub provides "User & Organization Pages" and "Project Pages".
I guess you could write it all in a User page and collaborate in there.
Or you could create an organization just to have the pages.

Then, we can use a user page thingy.
Do you want me to set it up?

Does url-rewrite work for github pages?

@Unihedro We could set up a Project Page for the repo containing the API docs.
@Unihedro Why would we need it?

@ProgramFOX But really, we're documenting usage of both CE.Net and JCE (along with ChatExchange when we dig up their docs as well) along with the API, will a project page be a good fit?

@Unihedro Then we can have a standalone repo containing the docs, which is hosted on http://<whatever>.github.io/SE-Chat-Docs and link to that from both CE.Net and JCE.

11:05 AM
@ProgramFOX so... no static pages?

@Unihedro "static pages"?

15 mins ago, by Unihedro
@ProgramFOX Now that I think about it, it's better to use static pages.

eh, I actually meant "what exactly is a static page?"

A static web page (sometimes called a flat page/stationary page) is a web page that is delivered to the user exactly as stored, in contrast to dynamic web pages which are generated by a web application. Consequently a static web page displays the same information for all users, from all contexts, subject to modern capabilities of a web server to negotiate content-type or language of the document where such versions are available and the server is configured to do so. Static web pages are often HTML documents stored as files in the file system and made available by the web server over HTTP (...
it... doesn't change

@Unihedro According to that, a GitHub Page is a static page.
It is exactly stored as how it gets served.

@ProgramFOX Yes, they are, but now we're using a repository?
2 mins ago, by ProgramFOX
@Unihedro Then we can have a standalone repo containing the docs, which is hosted on http://<whatever>.github.io/SE-Chat-Docs and link to that from both CE.Net and JCE.
Oh, huh.

@Unihedro To host things in GitHub Pages, you need to put them in a repo.
But they're still static.

Hmpf.
