@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Oh, they were. They just didn't succeed in driving me mad XD
That dude is exhausting. Comes to the door (so I have to pause a game, unwrap a blanket, move stuff, haul my ass of a couch) to ask for a phone number. A number I've sent him before.
No clue. I woke up this weekend with a female falsetto voice pointing out to some kid (that didn't seem to have discovered speech yet) that yes, that was a frog... yeah, it's a frog. Do you want to pet the frog? Go pet the frog... pet... pet.....
And then he asks 'send me it on WhatsApp'... Like, you could've just sent a message on whatsapp instead of ringing the doorbell and we'd both be happier? XD
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Nah, the frog lives safely in my backyard now, so no more of that. This one was screaming at the top of their lungs in the playground behind my house. To the point that I closed the fresh air vents to keep most noise out.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda The smoking is only half of it. The other half is his complete refusal to become even the littlest bit self-sufficient. There should be some kind of government institute you could snitch on such people to.
A third half would be his general rudeness. "Gimme another cup of coffee" while at my place, ugh.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda For apartment buildings here, it's mandatory to have some kind of 'club' that takes some money each month, and uses it to insure the building and do maintenance on 'shared' things like the roof.
Once a year, the accounting has to be 'audited'.
Since there's only six of us living in this building, there are three people making up the 'board' of that 'club', and us other three (including annoying neighbour) do the auditing.
And since I'm 'so good with computers and connecting a laptop to the TV so it's easy to see', us three meet at my place once a year.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Yep. First year we did it I made it quite the 'party', getting beer and snacks and such. Last year I made some excuses about it being a weekday and not staying up late, so I got away with only serving coffee and some cookies ;)
I'm almost hoping this year will just be another weekday. Even though it kills an entire evening and I feel much less 'recharged' the next day because my evening wasn't relaxing XD
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Oh, over here the money is just transferred automatically each month. All the rest is managed through WhatsApp, e.g. if I need them to do something I use that indeed. I had hoped that when the upstairs neighbors moved, I could get a seat on the 'board' (I initially didn't do that because I thought it would be too much work but it's a rather easy thing to do), but they had already arranged with the new neighbors that one of them would take over their duties XD
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Hopefully another weekday with just coffee and a cookie. :P
We had a building full of Eritrean 'statushouders' (migrants that have been granted asylum) across the street from my parents. One day, one of them drowned in a local lake. The noise was... some experience.
@Tinkeringbell eh, yeah. But some people just cry... louder, than others, regardless of culture, I think.
Which reminds me...
@Slate hey, can you please just check if @Pet's contact form entered the system and looked into? Long story short his account was somehow auto merged with user called @S.M. few days ago, and since then some others reported something like that so it might be so bigger scale issue. Thanks!
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Oh, sure. But over here that ranges from a sniffle to perhaps a bit 'hollywood dramatic', nothing as exaggerated as what I heard then though...
I've had my cries, but I really couldn't produce such sounds while crying unless I had to do so deliberately
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Yeah, I don't know if anyone actually witnessed the drowning. It was reported on as being a missing person search found drowned , so I guess someone just noticed someone missing and they started to search?
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact So do I. There are none right now though
