@RougetheBat Ah gotcha. I grew up on Eclipse. Use of spaces for indentation, yup; that should be an option on your IDE whether or not you want it to convert. The newlines should be more along the lines of this:

honestly, I don't care about spaces vs tabs. I use which ever I feel like, and it all being converted to spaces is just fine.

in most cases, if it compiles directly to binary its different

but the newlines do affect the size of the file, meaning brackets on their own line add useless space

that doesn't get removed unless the code is shrinked with a tool like proguard or something similar for [insert language here]

I use the same naming conventions in Kotlin, Java, Scala, C++, JavaScript, PHP (ugh, php) and Python. Mostly due to lazyness :D
