I talked to a guy from MDG a month ago, after the party's yearly county meeting. He wanted to destroy all the untouched nature left in the country.

Point is, he wanted to replace all the remaining nature of Norway with farmland. He must be a minority in the party.

SP (effectively the farmer's party) basically doesn't care about the environment if it gets in the way of farmers (see their wolf policy, for example)

@Zoeisonstrike It's not a farmer's party, it's a builder's party. The kind that supports turning all remaining nature, neighborhoods and villages into cities.

Preserving the nature is in the interest of farmers. They are amongst those hurt the most from its destruction.

It's all fun and games until the bees disappear as a result of all the destruction of their natural habitats, for example. IIRC, bees in particular also need a diverse set of plants, so monoculture farms is actually bad for them

Well, seems we agree for the most part on what to do with the nature.

We do need to build in some of it still, but most if it shouldn't be touched unless absolutely necessary. We should really start building down some of the most remote areas (and all cabin areas, except those of some special historical significance)

There should also arguably be a law requiring mining operations to restore nature around the mine after the depletion of the mine
