The Dutch know this as Ringel-S which my German Language Teacher always referred to as "German Ringel-s" which we found pretty weird as no other language has a "ringel-s" and as such the addition of "German" didn't add a thing. Telling him stop adding non-sense did make him explode which gave us "Viel Spass"
