the poster's followup: Believe it or not, this is a ladder game.
And after i posted this replay, i experimented with this 'cheese' and found out that it has a 50/50 chance of tricking people in thinking the match is broken. So far, around 10 people actually fell for this trick and surrendered, although to be fair i'm just playing in platinum league, and it's just a way to abuse Starcraft 2's constant performance issues that many people are having. Can't say about real diamond pros though.

I'm assuming that there is no real way around it, but during the imperial campaign, what happens if you accept the senate's request that your faction leader commits suicide? Will he go through with it? Will the senate ask you successive leaders until you disagree?

@badp ok, while I agree having fewer rules is better, having a convention of handling this kind of thing is a good thing to have now, so we don't run into problems later
