@Tin BTW I'd like to ask you a question. Is it allowed for chatbots to be given explicit write access? FOX 9000 and KennyBOT in the Den have this access (if I recall correctly) but Ann disagrees and believes that this shouldn't be done (because a user at SO chat once told her this). Do you think it's allowed? Thanks!

@10Rep Heh, well... I think the problem with your most recent suggested edits are that they're not really necessary. If I can read the question before your edit and after your edit and not feel like the question was clarified that much, or the formatting wasn't improved in a relatively significant matter... Do we really need the edit at all?

Additionally, if you are going to fix issues with the post, make sure you fix all of the issues that you can see. Some reviewers prefer to reject if you don't fix everything that's immediately visible. So, in general, I would advise that you make edits that assuredly do the following:

1. Fix all (well, at least most) critical issues with the post. Are there a bunch of spelling errors? Fix 'em! Is the content not clear, and could that be improved by your steady hand? Do so!

2. Improve the formatting of the post in a not-insignificant manner.

3. If you're adding information, make sure that that information is necessary.

If you check all of those boxes, or at least a majority of them, there's no reason for the edit to be rejected.

@Anonymous So... The point of tag markdown is, in part, to be able to quickly click on that bit of text that now appears as a tag and quickly see all questions listed with that tag. Given that the tags are on Stack Overflow, using tag markdown isn't helpful here as clicking these tags would take us to a 404 page (as the tag doesn't exist). I imagine this is why Zoe chose to reject and edit. She made some other changes as well, which were rather minimal but did improve the post.

@Anonymous There is an "Improve Edit" option, in which the reviewer can take the changes you made and apply some of their own. The problem is, in this case, Zoe would be using parts of your edit which, while they were improving the post, were rather minimal. She would be removing the tag markdown portion and beyond that, the only other changes were spaces in between "Stack" and "Overflow" in a couple spots and code formatting being applied to "highlight.js" which doesn't really improve things much

Does that make sense?

@Spe Now it does, still it's very hard to have a "perfect edit" and I think tag formatting in that case was useful because it was referring to tags.

@Anonymous While it was referring to tags, you should try to only use tag markdown when clicking that tag would take you to an actual tag on the site you're on (or if you're on a per-site meta, to the main site. Otherwise use [meta-tag:(tag)]) Simply saying "I was browsing the C# tag on Stack Overflow" is sufficient. If you were on Meta SO and you wanted to point people towards that tag, you could say "I was browsing c# and..."

@Anonymous When choosing "Reject and Edit," there's no way for a reviewer to provide an explanation. The Community user will always just say "This edit did not fix critical issues with the post ..." and etc.

The best outcome is that the reviewer explains why they rejected in the edit summary when they submit the edit, but that doesn't always happen, and reviewers have no obligation to provide a reason there.

@10R I tried to search for keywords like "thanks" and "appriciate your help", also I monitored the homepage for new posts, and that helped.

@Anonymous yes, but you want to be careful about those as well. For instance, if I was reviewing an edit, and the only thing removed was "thanks", then I would either improve the edit or reject it.

@Anonymous When editing in image descriptions (also known as "alt text") your best bet is to be as descriptive as possible. The alt texts that Zoe edited in were much more descriptive. Additionally, this is another case of tag markdown being used where it's not helpful. The removal of thanks was nice, but given that the other changes weren't desirable, rejection seems fair here.

I also do wanna clarify I can't speak for the reviewers here, I'm just providing my own take on what I see, and potentially how I would review.
