@terdon all good! Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate it. :)
Well, many in Israel ban Germany and don't go there or buy things made there. It's silly, but can't blame them. Personally my family, friends, and me are not and we're well aware the people there understands antisemitism better than most other countries these days.
As for Trump, you can blame random American who voted for him... ;)
Can you TL;DR what happened between Greece and Turkey few hundred years ago, and then again when you father was teenager and had to run away?
Oh wait, when he was teenager.... WW2? Germans invaded Greece too?
I remember learning about them bombing England badly, invading Poland etc, but not something about Greece.
@terdon foreign policies? Don't you mean internal, with Palestines?

@ShadowWizardisEarForYou Oh nothing relevant. Short story is the are that is now Greece was part of the Ottoman empire and the Greeks believe we were "enslaved", which is not accurate historically. And there have been tensions between Greece and Turkey ever since the modern Greek state declared its independence from the Ottoman empire. But Greeks tend to be very nationalistic and believe we're angels while they are devils. Obviously, the truth is somewhere in the middle.
@ShadowWizardisEarForYou Yes, they did, but my Dad's American. He ran away because of issues with his mother, but he ran away to that Jewish family. As a result, he never differentiated between them and his blood relations when talking to me, so I consider them all family. I only mentioned it to say that my father is very much not antisemitic and made sure I didn't have any such stupid ideas either.
@ShadowWizardisEarForYou Eh, both. I was also thinking of the various other wars. But main point is that I do not blame anyone from a country for that country's politicians, and I most certainly wouldn't dream of blaming an entire ethnic/religious group because some of their politicians do things I disagree with!

@terdon sounds familiar... :/
Guess it's just human nature. :)

Anyway, main thing: text based communication isn't very good at getting tone across and I wanted to be clear that I am not any sort of antisemite.
Of course, that's what all antisemites would say, but it's true! I swear!

@terdon I see. Interesting story!
@terdon :)

OK. Just wanted to make that clear :)

@terdon swear on your coffee!

4:27 PM
I swear!
And that's as serious an oath as I can make! :P

!!/coffee
:(
@terdon OK, you have my faith. :D
