@shmosel It's not a good thing that people just flag things and move on. The site already has a small popup that shows up when you downvote something asking you to consider leaving a comment on why you downvoted. Now, maybe if the system had been made to teach new "contributors" (who often don't even bother to upvote/accept answers or reply to comments) to actually do/be everything gnat's mockup/picture shows, it would've been better.
The system doesn't need to tell people who already know how to use the site and how it works to treat newcomers under a different standard. Rather, it needs to focus on getting newcomers to understand how the site actually works and the culture within it in a quick and effective manner. That's what they should've done, but they did it backwards.
@gnat Was that made by you or is that an actual SE prototype?
