In order to protect and build a solid reputation I am trying to find the best community friendly answer.
I have read posts where it says questions can be removed, I have read posts where it says questions can only be flagged, I have read posts where it says questions can only be removed by a mode...
@JasonC the argument you wanna make there is "here, in concrete terms, is how we'll moderate posts that try to get by with a link to YouTube and no explanation."
Uh... the majority of that blog post was about what the community did, not you.
Dev Story part 2 is at least better than part 1...
And I'm still awfully confused why a CM and not a Careers dev/team lead posted about the dev story. I guess you need some bridge between the two... but I thought CMs were more about the communities, not about Jobs.
And a CM posted the Dev Story because we are a bit more familiar with dealing with users on the sites. It's a lot tougher for a dev who has never dealt with Meta to dive in there.
@hichris123 Well it makes no sense for me to link to google docs in that post. The details are in the Year in Review if you choose to read it.
@bluefeet The point I'm making is you link to something saying "look what Stack Exchange Inc accomplished this year!" when really 90% of the link is "look what we (the community) accomplished this year".
@hichris123 depends on whether you approach it as Serious Business In Which You Expose The Nazis For Their Evilness or a welcome distraction from the daily grind In Which You Entertain And Illuminate
For example: here's how you write about evil mods abusing their powers and get results without actually, y'know, making folks feel bad:
Moderators on S[OFU] have a number of privileges above and beyond those of normal users. These are necessary in order for them to perform their duties as moderators: keeping the peace, identifying and mitigating abuse, etc.
However, most moderators also participate on these sites in a fashion si...
@Shog9 You think I'm capable of entertaining? ha. I'd probably fall flat right in between... then it'd be even more boring. No complaints that you can just take your popcorn (pigs inna blanket) and laugh at... and nothing that is actually entertaining. Just a boring meta post on a boring day in January...
I expect you to go for a brisk run in the snow and come back refreshed and energized, ready to write an impassioned screed that will make us all laugh, cry, and reflect.
Tell us a story about what brought you to SO, what sparked your imagination and fired your passion for it. And what has weakened your faith here today, made you fear for the future and wonder if this will all soon come to naught.
@hichris123 if the ground outside your house is on fire right now, I think you have bigger problems... and I find your lack of motivation even more disturbing
@Shog9 It seems that the blood & guts of Q&A/moderation has been forgotten recently. Is this true at all? It certainly seems this way. What steps is SE Inc. taking to avoid this impression?
@bluefeet Hmm side comment on that: does the date in the Google Spreadsheet refer to some sort of day when it was internally set as done? meta.stackexchange.com/questions/208667/… appears as done on September 2nd in the spreadsheet, but it was [status-completed] on August 18th.
@ShadowWizard I don't live in Florida and I don't play the lottery.
The start of a bad day is when I don't have exact change for my coffee and have to wait in line behind a bunch of people playing the lottery to pay for it.
The Netflix show descriptions make every show sound awful.
"Problems don't get much more futuristic than getting caught in a love triangle with a scientist and his android."

@SimonKlaver lemme know when you or people who you know in real life wins more than a million, individuals have a better chance of running over by a car than winning more than a mil
In my country there are some lotteries which hand out smaller prices, and then do so in streets: A whole street gets 25k on every ticket and such. I am unaware how it is in Murica, though.
