Sorry, the only thing I ever use Firebug for is HTML/CSS checking, not familiar with the console tab.

firefox doesn't just not give you the storage object, it throws an exception in that case

Changed dom.storage.enabled to true, visited chat.SE, clicked log in, got the dropdown, went to SO, clicked log out, clicked log in, clicked the MyOpenID button, went to chat.SE, clicked log in.

"clicked the myopenid button" -- returned to SO?

I don't expect you the only one to be ever having problems, so it would be great to be able to track down the issue

They seem to resolve themselves after a while, but it's really annoying
