OTOH, an 8 am calculus class is over before anyone's fully awake, so there's less suffering than would be otherwise.

they killed off the official, per site, community blogs

10:24 AM
@Fawad Meh, this is a minor issue
Most people don't join that many rooms anyway

11:06 AM
also, full site isn't designed for tablets or phones really

@JourneymanGeek Or for laptops
Or iWatches
It's built for microwaves and teddy bears though

@M.A.R. works fine on most laptops
Even run it on a 1024x768 laptop
Not all that many chatrooms tho

@Stijn Yep, probably @ShadowWizard is now busy with ip tracking to see if he can find any pattern that should hint I am the one answering those questions.
Which obviously is fake, since if anything he should be suspecting I am Tabitha.. after all, I switch from Derpy to Rarity and back to Muffin again.

@M.A.R. are you implying desktops are still a thing in 2017? O_o

@JanDvorak lol
I am on one now
and there's some things one just cannot do on a laptop

power it down by tripping on the power cord?

any recent desktop would use a self-powered UPS ring

I use a portable desktop with a built-in UPS. I call it a laptop.

1:49 PM
Stylish handle, but where do you put it when the thing's in use?

Q: What happens when you plug a UPS into itself?

Tim PostUPSey daisy; so we had a little ... incident ... Pretty sure that has power. We're past that now, and things are returning to normal. It's only appropriate that we take a moment to think about the folks that got pulled out of bed and worked their knuckles to the bone to get things back up and...

Got bored of the realtime tab, opened the realtime tab to fill in time, was disappointed by the results.

@JanDvorak I have most of my cabling tied down.

Do you have a photo at hand?

Not really

Then a verbal description will do. Are they tied to the wall, or just a free-floating bundle with zip ties?
My wiring at home is a rat's nest :/

I have a dining table as a desk

@SmokeDetector It's nice being able to flag this stuff using the API, without adding the URL of that question to browser history.

has one of those I shaped legs with a crossbar.
I have 2 power strips screwed to that
and any cables outside those are bound up under the table top

It'd be interesting to have a good answer to Why are homework related questions accepted on maths SE more than here? [on Physics]

nice
@Gerry they'd reject them if the volume was as much
I'd wager a guess

user315433
But Math is the one with higher HW volume, by far.

The field of comparative studies of Stack Exchange sites is still in its infancy.

Maybe we could migrate the good questions to ... SO for professionals? ... and let the homeworks ... flourish rot open on the old site?

user315433
There's a large number of people who simply love doing math homework, even very routine things. Not nearly as many in Physics or Chemistry, or Computer Science.

There are plenty of people who would love to do someone's programming homework, too. Maybe there is a way to satisfy them without hurting the others?

@JanDvorak next desk will likely be even less jerryrigged ;p
Probably fit power sockets under the table tops...

I've never done any DYI mods, unfortunately. Though I would like to mount my secondary monitor upside-down on my desk's upper shelf.

@JanDvorak I want to just get a pair of table tops (wood on top, cheapie materials on the bottom) and A frames (2-3) from ikea...
@Gerry metta.meta...? ;p

Hmm... if SE's chat feed can post xkcd post daily, why do we need xkcdBot, which is currently borked?
or probably, the alternative question is, do we want xkcd feed here?

@Elephant I have no problem with it
if I even have a say in this ...

Well, in the end, I can't add a new feed, so I have no power either ...
