I've looked at the Chat FAQ and I'm still not sure what the point of having a "parent user" of the chat account is. Why can't a Chat account be associated with multiple other Stack Exchange accounts in the normal way?

I think the main argument there, and a plausible one, considering the activity pattern over time, was that they thought private beta is mostly a waiting period, and didn't see it as anything important. A community from largely outside SE, did not have Area 51 regulars to tell them how the process goes.

Yeah, OK. I leave it then but I'm occasionally impacted by this as well as on my old N900 only works with the mobile theme but it never remembers my choice and by default it starts with the full-site.
