Q: Why was this question reopened?

Your Common SenseThere is a question, mysqli_query() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli ( it is mysqli though ), that genuinely seems to me to be a duplicate of Warning: mysqli_query() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli, null given in in every aspect - the title, the question body, and the answer are almost literally...

user163250
Looks like a high-rep user is deleting his account because of it.

@Cupcake actually yesterday

user163250
12:54 AM
"Yesterday" is relative, friend.

@Cupcake is?

we go by UTC here

user163250
@hichris123 are you asking who?

> a high-rep user is his account

user163250
@hichris123 fixed.

12:55 AM
@Cupcake No, I'm trying to figure out what. Is isn't too descriptive. ;P
Ah, better.

@Cupcake where do you see that? was it John? meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/307977/… , doesn't seem too upset at all about it?

user163250
@CRABOLO I'd feel kind of awkward pointing the guy out directly. If you're really interested, you can read the whole drama-fest in that Meta post and figure it out yourself.

user163250
Meh, screw it, I'll make life easy for you.

Good riddance to a self-serving rep whore. He is the problem, not YCS.

So many users want deletion...

user163250

user163250
That account is almost 3 years old.

Somebody with the maturity level to abuse power given to him for his contributions and rage quit with nothing more than the prompt of a realistically thinking user and with sophomoricly written complaints in their user profile does not belong on a site devoted to professional and enthusiast programmers.
Me grammar was porblorblady wrong, going to bed early now
Night!

Would it be too meta to point out the irony there?

@Cupcake that' not how the deletion process works anymore

user163250
Oh really?

@Cupcake You're supposed to contact the Stack Exchange team if you want your account deleted.

user163250
I remember it used to be that way at one point, at least.

Very new accounts can delete themselves, though.

user163250
1:08 AM
@DragonLordtheFiery well that's awkward then.

inb4 users saying "please, don't delete me" are deleted

user163250
1,200 users declaring that they want to be deleted, when it's actually unnecessary...

user163250
Kind of funny, in a terrible sort of way, actually.

@Cupcake yea it changed , that query you provided are all users that didn't email the team and only wrote delete me in their profile, so all those account will likely remain active forever if have any visible posts
but most of them didn't follow process long before the new change

@CRABOLO Isn't that still a part of it? Email the team, add 'please delete me' to confirm that you have access to the account?

1:10 AM
no need to add "please delete me", they added feature where once the process your email the next time you login to the site you have to click on a button to confirm you want your account deleted or to cancel deletion... if you click to delete it it automatically deletes in 24 hours

> Please delete me. I feel that, this community is something else. I cannot even delete myself. WTF! People ask questions and some other people answer it. It is not a big deal. There is no good question or bad question. It is just a question. I cannot get it? Why do you have to put some rules on everything. People are not inventing anything here, they are just sharing some information they saw at some other place. anyways... delete me. I do not want to live in this world anymore...

user163250
There's one way you could find out for sure, but you'd need to request that your account be deleted...

the main differnce is that in the past you could email team, change about me to "please delete me" in profile, and then log out and it'll be taken care of... but now, if you don't log back in to confirm deletion you account will remain

@ShadowWizard it's like @CRABOLO says, it's a mess. The deletion topic is spread everywhere and when I stumbled on it to make sense of it all, I'm the one who gets pounded on.
Whatever you guys want to do at this point, irdc. I'm not deleting the post, can't though I'd want to anyway; not worth to bother myself with it anymore. The downvotes can keep piling on as much as they want.
