I was just doing some coding in java. Then I had to debug this line: System.out.println("The homework for " + compare1.toString().replaceFirst(",.*", "") + " is " + (compare1.compareTo(compare2) == 0 ? "equal to " : (compare1.compareTo(compare2) < 0 ? "less" : "greater") + " than ") + compare2.toString().replaceFirst(",.*", "") + " in terms of pages to read.");
Answer, now, no time, no brain... Pretty cool attitude: `
public static void main() throws Exception {
final Scanner scanner = new Scanner(new File(file_str));
while (scanner.hasNextLine()) {
if (scanner.hasNextInt()) {
final int nb = scanner.nextInt();

@BenjaminGruenbaum: do you really think this answer is any helpful, or even tries to attempt answering the question? It is OK as a joke, and those go in comments.
Should users be given a chance to correct their old answers before flagging?
I've been having a (too meta admittedly) with another user on this answer which is a 3 years old answer by Darin Dimitrov.
We disagree on whether or not old link only answers should be flagged immediately or a grace pe...
Yeah, but if I delete voted it while it was discussed people with less than 10K reputation in SO would not have been able to see it, which would require me to take a picture of it and upload it and that would still not be as good because it'd come without context.
It is a lot easier to discuss an answer imo when the answer is surrounded by the other answers and the question itself. It's no big deal - but it's why I didn't delete vote it while it was discussed.
I did more than a little, but I just cannot make sense out of it, I am afraid.
I posted a screenshot including everything, and based on the upvotes, people seem to have been just fine with that. I think you are trying to resolve a non-existing problem.
I mentioned this in a comment once before and never made it into a full feature-request.
Having been a moderator for half a year now and handled quite a bit of comment flags, I often run across some... not-so-great comments that just make you think to yourself "Why in the world would you ever sa...
I have a online website selling sport equipment.
And now I need to combine it with Jquery mobile which have a good user-interface.

Thanks in advance
I am seeing a very strange issue on the Meta Stackoverflow Chat. Stack Overflow's chat is working for me fine, this is just the Meta's chat that doesn't work.
Does anybody know why this is happening?

3 answers, same content, selling software for money link.
I edit that question and just after I saved a mods comes in to delcare the question off-topic as being a programming question. I hope that questions stays there...
The edit suggested some major clean up, but it appended a youtube link at the end.
Then it seems to have been absorbed by the OP somehow (no sign of edit in the revision history, but the same content) in the grace period
The diff now shows no difference between the new revision 1 and the suggested body, which are the same because the new revision 1 is based on the edit to the old revision 1
then an edit by Rikesh swooped down and killed the youtube link, then the question was swiftly deleted.
About your criticism in a sentence. Congratulations, you have discovered that when a lot of people are asked to make subjective decisions about a hard to measure property (quality) not everyone agrees with everyone. — Benjamin Gruenbaum32 secs ago
I just noticed that I lost a bunch of points from my reputation score on Stack Overflow, and I used the "reputation" tab on my user profile page to try and track down the cause.
During my investigation, I noticed there was an unusual event of type "reversal". In the normal place of a question ti...
"If the voting fraud is in the progress of happening or just happened recently, don't worry about it. You should wait at least 24 hours after noticing before becoming concerned. The system should detect it and reverse it for you."
@Bart: Thanks, I already read that text (I meant about it, when saying "as advised") and I know a little bit about auto-script. But there was a point in this text, you cite, that I can ask at any time, to see, if this particular case is a serial voting abuse. So, I asked. Just to feed my curiosity! :] I hope, this is not a crime? I'm just a very curious person! :]
FOR SHAME!! Nah, not a crime, but just wait for a day. If nothing is reversed (I'm pretty sure reversal will happen) then you can still ask for further investigation.
@GnomeSlice I was wondering. Do you happen to know how Starbound is actually distributed? Looking at the site it seems to be steam based, but there are report of it not using steam or any other drm.
@SPArchaeologist Looks like they're using Humble to distribute Steam keys, which is a good sign that they will add a drm free download at some point as well. Probably when it's done.

I'm glad you asked this... There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding how much stuff gets deleted, and who is responsible - so I'm going to provide a bit more information than what you asked for, in hopes of clearing this up.

then there are a few more ...

There are a couple more if you type 'bin' in a chat room search.

Ugh. There's a guy that apparently spent the last hour adding tags to people's posts. Less than half of the edits are (what I would consider to be) valid, but most are being approved through the queue.
@filipe Please make your edits complete. Merely editing tags when there is enough other content to fix is not good enough. Please address the post as a whole. — Bart9 secs ago
I have a Listview with LiveBindings to a DB. I have FetchOptions RowSetSize set to 20.
Query:
Select * from "MyDB" where "Name" LIKE "%&FieldList%' AND "Tag'=1
If I set FetchOptions to onDemand LiveBindings works but I get 3000 items and it is very slow.
If I set FetchOptions to Manual LiveB...
@Filipe.Fonseca I'm not saying that you are not helping, I'm saying that you have to fix everything in the post at once if you decide to edit. — rene26 secs ago
Giving someone a brand new Windows 7 laptop with great specs, and then forcing them to continue using IE8, is like giving someone a sports car with a cassette player as the sound system.
Not that I am speaking from experience, or anything like that.
They decided to take admin away from everyone with the new Win7 machines. I don't think it will last long. The help desk is going to be overrun with devs asking for temp admin rights.
@ThiefMaster It really wasn't too annoying until this recent change.
