Is it bad etiquette to downvote people providing correct answers to incorrect questions? :P

12:46 PM
I am so tired. I should really start getting to bed at a decent hour.

Heh, I was just thinking the same thing...

ok really? I just got banned for posting this? i.picasion.com/pic56/33ae3471024a492528071ceb531c3f20.gif SFW!
Assistance please?

@rlemon Banned where?

no monday morning humour anyone? lol
main chat
> your account has been automatically suspended for posting inappropriate content and cannot chat for 29 minutes.

@rlemon Dude, that's gross. I might just flag you for posting it again here

12:52 PM
@ThiefMaster

Starbucks? Really? That's not coffee

lol, all I could get in Niagra Falls.
but I agree

heh, who did you piss off to get enough flags for that?

no clue, go look in the room
i o/
then posted that

Did you post it in the C# chat room?

12:53 PM
:P
lol nope
but I did troll the Android guys with a 'android' rendition of it.
I thought, well they code in Java, they have to have a sense of humour

Looks like the photo of yourself is inappropriate :p

@rlemon Know your audience, I guess. I've unsuspended you, but take it as a hint that eight people flagged it.

Maybe try again in the C++ chat room. They are a pretty happy and funny bunch. They will appreciate it
Hides under desk waiting for the result

wow.. @balpha i'm a regular in that room - these guys are a trolling bunch. I am generally surprised by that one.

Oh, those auto suspensions can be revoked? Good to know.

12:57 PM
@TimStone On the bright side, I finally got all of the Act I campaign achievements (other than killing the Inferno bosses).

@ThiefMaster in the user's chat profile under "moderation tools"

@jadarnel27 Nifty

I guess you just got one joke flag and then people from other rooms confirmed that flag thinking it'd be a photo of someone else that doesn't belong in there
in JavaScript on Stack Overflow Chat, 11 mins ago, by Andy E
@rlemon: how do you feel about your face being flagged as offensive? :-p

Well done! I just got my first one not too long ago.

I can hardly believe all this has been around since 2008

Q: Badge Holders Page Broken

RoryAs seen below on both the beta theme and graduated sites themes, on the tag editor (and some other badges) badge holders page the columns overlap. Appears to be on all sites (have checked beta theme, skeptics, MSO, SO, Apple and English).

There are two close as duplicate votes on this question for a question that is already closed as duplicate of this one
Does anyone want to try doing a duplicate loop?

2:09 PM
Each time I see that gravatar on a question, I can't help but think it's going to be a troll question.

2:44 PM
Hmmm, the Websockets crap which SE is running is suddenly working on this computer
Okay, I can adapt the chat script to work on the main sites too I guess. Let me see...
@TimStone Hey, do you think it'll be a good idea to have the chat favicon thingy also work on all SE sites? The automatic websocket update thingy triggers the same change in the document.title of the page

3:00 PM
@TimYiJiang Oooh, that'd be awesome.

The biggest problem is that canvas still can't load the dirty favicon image and thus have to use data URLs
Which is impossible to keep up to date with the number of sites around

3:32 PM
@TimYiJiang It can, right? It just has some CORS-related prerequisites.
Although I remember reading that specification and not really understanding what did and didn't cause the canvas to be marked dirty.
Either way, I do think it'd be a good idea, yeah.
@PopularDemand Yes, I am not getting all of my notifications.
The red circle indicated the right number of new things, but it highlighted one new thing and one old thing, and the second new thing isn't listed at all.

Q: Why are my SEDE results inaccurate/obsolete/incorrect/outdated?

Popular DemandWhen I use the Stack Exchange Data Explorer (SEDE), the results I get don't reflect recent activity. Sometimes the data I get back are two months out of date. What's wrong? This is intended to be a canonical reference for questions about SEDE not reflecting real-time results. Return to FAQ index

2 months, got it. thanks

Basically, it only gets updated once every couple months. You can see the latest update date on the main page of the Data Explorer, though.
@MikeB No problem. And not a dumb question, you're fine =)

4:35 PM
@ErnestFriedman-Hill I just came across a similar one. 11k views, 2 upvotes =)
I think those are all about the title; they're not really good questions. But the titles are every Google-able, so people click on that link first, realize it's not useful to them, and move on.

4:52 PM
Could this be reopened please? meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/117765/…
ktnxbye

Couldn't you just edit the duplicate to say "This is true for comments as well"? I don't see why there needs to be a separate post for that.

I got the feeling that question was "handled" already. Maybe I got the wrong idea by the answer of Jeff and the comment underneath it :)
Will do

@jadarnel27 OK, ran a query, and here is the winner. Over 71,000 views, never got a vote.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill I just contributed to that.

Oops, over 71001 views, no votes.
At least you didn't vote on it, that'd be cruel.

5:04 PM
I try to maintain a tiny amount of class here.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill Hahaha, wow. Great find.
That is some epic mediocrity right there.

The population of a small city all clicked that link and no one cared.

8 people who had SO accounts found an answer useful.
One even found a fairly useless answer useful.

@mootinator Hmmm, yeah.
Maybe the Meh-tric needs to be a little more sophisticated.
Most views and no votes and no answers?

But captain obvious has 25k rep so who am I to judge.

5:08 PM
@ErnestFriedman-Hill Holy mangoes.

I wish my top answers on SO weren't astonishingly mediocre.

Please vote this comment rude-offensive: stackoverflow.com/questions/11937983/…

OK, still working on this. If you limit it to questions with 0 answers, it gets a lot harder. The top ten most-views-no-answers have all been merged into other questions as dupes.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill that sounds highly reasonable

@jcolebrand It is gone!

5:12 PM
@jcolebrand I missed it.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill good

I saw it, but when I clicked on the flag it errored!

Note to self: rhyming doesn't make insulting people acceptable in @jcolebrand's opinion.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill either a mod removed the comment or the people in the other chat room I also asked to do it probably all clicked PDQ
Once so many people add a rude-offensive flag the comment disappears
@mootinator ahem don't be an absolute dick in @jcolebrand's presence.

5:15 PM
Rhyming is fine, when you have the time, so long as you're sublime, and can rhyme
As you can see, I cannot

OK, now, mediocrity. There is this one which has 9807 views and no votes and is not merged, but has all four answers deleted by Bill the Lizard.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill everybody should vote those first two comments as obsolete, since the edits are in the Q now

I'm going down the list now and I've made it down to the pitiful 4000 view range, and still haven't found one that doesn't have at least some deleted answers.
This is actually pretty impressive; it's hard to ask a completely ignored question on SO.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill indeed

Hi All, Can i Share my Android App Link Here to ask people to share the comment about the App
@jcolebrand: hi are you here

7:19 PM
I doubt is appropriated to do it using the words you used, but it is my opinion

I kind of want to post an answer on the "Dying starfish" Careers Ad post that's just a brown square.
...brown.

@jadarnel27 People might confuse careers with UPS.

Oh no! mootinator may have discovered that I've been a UPS marketing employee all along.
@mootinator You're right, that's a terrible idea.
Brown is a stupid color.
whistles

Subliminal messaging. Very clever.

7:30 PM
Admittedly, my choice of target audiences for this ploy was somewhat misguided.

@SankarGanesh For a shopping/catalogue app the permissions you request are absolutely inappropriate

Oh boy, my top answer on meta is a joke about starfish

Derp

(GPS, phone status)

@ErnestFriedman-Hill For a while, mine was just an xkcd comic strip =)

But it doesn't really belong in here, consider asking in the android channel in the SO chat

7:32 PM
Your starfish analogy is solid gold, though.

@ErnestFriedman-Hill I've almost gotten my close votes entirely on pointlessly silly posts. Almost... there...

@SankarGanesh Only some days
I bet, however, that you could ask ANYONE in here questions, not just me

8:05 PM
I feel like this question needs more...words.

8:28 PM
I was going to write a SEDE query for "shortest question," but it turned out there was already one for "shortest answer" that was simple to modify.

@PopularDemand Haha, excellent. That one needs significantly more words =)
Or just a few less, I suppose.

9:00 PM
posts a smarmy homework accusation.

@mootinator points out the issue with not following summer of love procedures

ARE YOU SERIOUS — Dustin 10 mins ago

WHO CARES?! Aside from a prof somewhere.

@mootinator on which? I do on the HTML5 question. I think that's awesome

9:07 PM
@jcolebrand Eeeyup. ^_^

9:19 PM
@jcolebrand Ok, I'm actually fascinated that this is valid HTML5:

I am as well

I'll accept my lashing via UPS.

What can brown do for you?

Hah, I thought I was going to have to prompt you.

Pshhh.

9:30 PM
Uh-oh @jadarnel27's sprung a leak.

Amusing Diablo 3 bug: start act 3 on the last quest ("Heart of Sin"), go to "The Foundry", and kill a Succubus. Cydaea drops down from the ceiling 0.0
And does her whole, "I see you've met my daughters" monologue.

11:37 PM
Oh hi
I'm sure someone in here knows the answer to this
I'm planning to travel the US
And I'll take my mobile with me. I'm thinking about getting a prepaid plan from T-Mobile that'll give me 5GB of traffic / month
Can anybody call me on the prepaid mobile's number without me getting charged for the call?
Because I think I remember having read that in the US, the mobile phone owner pays a part of the charges when he's being called
That may be old information, though.

@Pekka If you're buying pre-paid, you'll spend "minutes" (or whatever unit of currency you're paying for) for every minute you spend on the phone - regardless of who initiates the call.

@Shog9 ahhhh I see
Thanks
That clears things up.

Hence the value of "unlimited talk" plans

I see I see.
Still pretty affordable. Cool.

@Shog9 Now that sounds like a stupid plan... people actually buy this?
I mean having to pay for incoming calls if you are in a different country makes sense (well, as much sense as international calling fees make) - but for incoming local calls?!

11:46 PM
@ThiefMaster define "local"

@ThiefMaster it's just a question of your viewpoint, I guess. It kinda makes sense to make the mobile owner pay for their mobility

same country

It's unthinkable in Europe, telcos went a different path over here, but it's not stupid as such
Seeing as the caller (presumably) pays approximately the same rate to the mobile as they would to a landline
