If we could have chat embedded in the main stack overflow window

I dont want to turn SO into facebook...

But it would be pretty cool to get chat on the main site, in a little bar at the bottom with a chat area appearing over the sidebar perhaps.

@rchern chat doesn't have it's on login functionality -- that's all on the parent site

but if i come here on a computer without being logged in, there's a login link to the parent site isn't there?

if i'm trying to get to the lounge, going into another room first to login is a bit counter-intuitive

Mobile bug: my rooms lists the tavern at the top but says last message is @balpha 1d ago instead of @radp 50m ago

I had been chatting in TL thenwent to tavern and back to TL when I saw it

the initial state of the "other rooms" list is created in the page, so if the browser cached the page (it shouldn't -- I'll check into that), it would show a previous version

TL had the most recent messages

Don't think so, but I've switched rooms several times since. Had to even just to get in here. Guess I could've opened a new tab sorry

don't worry about it -- the server sends Cache-Control: private, so I guess it's legal if the iPhone caches the page
