@Stijn nah. Very little crime & violence around here. Even break-ins are rare here in the rural north of the island. Just have had troubles with the owners of the plot right next to mine because of where the water flows when it rains a lot.
@ShadowWizard they haven't used the plot this winter, and there wasn't a lot of rain, so the issue didn't come up. I'll try to get them to sell the plot to me this year. Holding my thumbs!
@ShadowWizard heh, unlikely! 30 years too late for that. In the eighties and nineties, loads of English and Germans came over and literally bought farmers' unused plots for a couple cartons of eggs and bread. Agriculture had become unprofitable with containerships full of imports from the mainland, and the land seemed worthless. Some of those buyers are millionaires now.
