@ShadowtheHatterWizard It takes almost 2 hours to fill a container of popcorn:

Rob
@ShadowtheHatterWizard I see you found the PostIt™ ...

@Rob no?
Just Googling some related terms. :)

11:21 AM
20% of the people appear to not want to get COVID19 vaccine, that's not good. Doing my small part in the attempt to convince them. :)

Including a not insignificant percentage of the military

@Mithical hopefully in military it will be a must - get the vaccine or be kicked out.
And same in schools: eventually I'd like to see an order from above "Those who didn't get the vaccine and could get it (i.e. no medical problems) won't be allowed to enter the school".
Otherwise the corona won't be gone.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating nope
They said they can't do that

Rob
11:40 AM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Looks that way ....

@Mithical too bad... well, so officers should put a personal example.

Rob
😀
You changed your avatar, again.

I.... did.
And my pants, though you can't see that.
But not my socks, they're loyal.

Rob
Can they stand up on their own?
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating It's not doing much. ~55% of Firefighters won't get COVID vaccine, and they get it first for free.

11:57 AM
^ Spam still up on ServerFault

Rob
2 more.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Around here the government has decided it's more important to vaccinate the elderly and those taking care of them than nurses/doctors in hospitals on crisis wards and ICUs.
Which means people who have to walk through infected hallways and rooms day in and day out are NOT top priority.
For some screwed up reason.
If you take care of someone with a handicap you'll be ahead of an ICU nurse.
Cops, nurses, firefighters, teachers, they'll all have to see when it's their turn.

I assume the rationale is that an ICU nurse is trained in preventing getting or spreading infections while others don't. And those that don't are more likely to be the spreaders.

ICU personnel currently has 10% fall-out due to illness and quarantine.

Not intentional, and no blame is intended

12:09 PM
They're at the end of their ability, keeping the country from falling over.

@Rob yes, they can be even stubborn.

!!/watch keepflick\.com

@SonictheCuriouserHedgehog That pattern looks like it's already caught by Potentially bad keyword in body and Potentially bad keyword in answer; append -force if you really want to do that.

@Mast I'll not deny that, and praise them for their relentless efforts. That said: I do think preventing large groups from entering the health care system might be a better option then to protect the professionals working in the healthcare system. Given that it takes time to get everyone their shots.
Maybe rolling a fair dice to decide who gets vaccinated prevents any feeling of being left-out

Rob
12:15 PM
I'm waiting for Synairgen inhaled vaccine - or other inhaled vaccine. Right @Tink.

Wiewuhwah?

Rob
Do you like needles?

I'm a regular blood donor, you get used to them.

Rob
Dec 8 at 15:10, by Tinkeringbell
Saves me from the needles.

@Rob dosen't sound like a vaccine

12:20 PM
@JourneymanGeek it's not, but still nice.

Not getting it at all seems nicer :D

Rob
@Mast Yes, but being given a bloody nose, to give blood, wouldn't necessarily be better.

@Rob The needles they use when tapping blood are much larger than those of vaccines.

Rob
That doesn't make them preferable.

@Mast of course, they need to take big amount of blood, can't do it with a small needle... :)

12:36 PM
@Rob @sha Yes, but only some vaccines can be inhaled. Plus, I wouldn't ever want to inhale a vaccine 'cause it seems (to myself) to look like I'm taking drugs--and I mean the bad kind, not the kind that treats illnesses--and I hate the bad drugs.

@TechExpertWizard the really bad drugs are injected with needles, actually.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating :+1:

@sha @John I know, but some really bad drugs are inhaled :(

first intranasal vaccine when?

Rob
@TechExpertWizard Yeah, I guess they won't ask you to assist them afterall. Shame, we were counting on you.

12:39 PM
@Rob Um, what?

Rob
Exactly.

of note, astmha medication is always delivered aerally

@Rob @John @sha Exactly what?

@JohnDvorak sure but it doesn't alter the DNA. :)
@TechExpertWizard see Den

Rob
The most commonly inhaled substance is glue, and that's not a drug. Neurocaine usually isn't inhaled when used legitimately.

12:41 PM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating wait what?

@sha I know, I saw your message :)
in Shadow's Den, 2 mins ago, by Shadow Wizard is Vaccinating
@Tech better not to try and understand Rob too hard: you'll end up stuck in a loop.
@sha I saw it 'cause I'm everywhere, as you said yesterday :)

Rob
English isn't his native language.

@Rob I know, some children get expelled from school 'cause they inhale glue.
@Rob Isn't whose native language? It is one of my native languages.
@Rob My other native language is Chinese.

Rob
Now it's blocked. Good enough.

@JohnDvorak Messenger RNA can't travel by air

12:45 PM
@Rob What's blocked?
in The Meta Room on Stack Overflow Chat, 19 hours ago, by Shadow Wizard is Ear For You
You're anywhere!

@TechExpertWizard that's not Den ;)

@sha I know that message ain't the Den, 'cause I've already posted the Den message above (I hope you've seen it). This is the message for "You're anywhere!", but I think you should've said "You're everywhere!" instead of "anywhere."

1:01 PM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating that's what my מ"פ said

@Mithical good! :)

@Mithical @sha @Rob Um, what?

@TechExpertWizard We inhaled markers.
Immediately gives you away if you do it wrong.

@TechExpertWizard it wasn't directed at you so don't worry about it

@Rob could, but this is just an antiviral done intranasally
So... that isn't a vaccine by any stretch of it

1:09 PM
If Tech Expert isn't Shadow, why does their profile say "I am the king of Shadow's Den"?
They aren't RO there either...

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Bingo.

@Mast @Tech is the newest Wizard, he does get some privileges. :D
And he's #1

@Mast 'Cause I was kiddin'.
@sha Yep, so that's why I'm the King of the Den X-D :) I deposed @TheLittle to become King.
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating What are you talkin' 'bout here?

@TechExpertWizard it's a reply to @Mast, see the tiny arrow on top left of the image
I can sniff fresh coffee, most brands have excellent smell. Some don't for some reason, e.g. Jacobs.

Q: Maxwell house instant coffee powder aroma

InstantCoffeeJediMy office just got a case of Maxwell House instant coffee. As noted by my co-worker, the aroma of the coffee powder smells more like soy sauce than coffee, which most of the instant coffees we had. The actual coffee tasted fine, the initial aroma was just offsetting. Is there any specific reaso...

1 hour later…
3:22 PM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating then there's indocafe. smells slightly like coffee, tastes vile, wakes you up like a kick between the legs....

@JourneymanGeek umm, kick between my legs will send me crumbling to the floor, where I'd wish I could sleep to make the pain go away. :D

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating YOU WISH YOU COULD SLEEP

Googling "indocafe"

but you can't.
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating 'local' brand of coffee. this specifically is the vending machine varient, which is probably extra vile

@JourneymanGeek the only site I found is terribly slow here, and unsecure... what makes it different from other coffee brands?

3:27 PM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating it was what we had when I did my degree
and was terrible :D

@JourneymanGeek well, we have something similar we call "Black coffee", or "Turkish coffee", which is very strong and "raw".

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating I think other end of the spectrum

Turkish coffee is extra strong

Made from grinded beans.

3:29 PM
this is weak, and nasty

@JourneymanGeek oh, so how will it wake me up? ;)

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating by tasting so vile
Its not the gentle warm coffee wake up
its your brain screaming "WHAT IS THIS SWILL?"

About five minutes ago someone was like "Why would you take the Nescafe when there's Turki?" And I go "Because I don't like the Turki. It's too bitter"
Also, I'm looking for something warm to keep my hands from freezing, not a defibrillator shock

@Mithical that's right, it's "raw" coffee, and hard to adjust to the taste.
@JourneymanGeek so I'll just drink salt water. ;)
During my army service I didn't have much choice; I had to stay awake while keeping watch on the camp, and the only way was by drinking the black coffee that was available in the kitchen.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating SAF army coffee is interesting...
Its singaporean/malaysian style coffee (so roasted with margarine), and strained through a nylon strainer (colloquially callled a sock)
not very strong, but bit of an acquired taste

3:37 PM
Sock coffee.... sounds interesting. Give me some! :P

Rob
@JourneymanGeek You can never be certain what is in vending machine coffee, but some of it is very good; secret sauce:

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating apparently proper way to do it yongsengcoffee.com/blogs/coffee-chats/how-to-brew-kopi-sock
I seem to remember they just poured lots of hot water through the grounds

This year end's is really weird...

Those cookies are very lonely:
I ate the other two before; Now wonder what to do with those. ;)

@MetaAndrewT. seems fitting for a wierd year

Rob
3:42 PM
Put ice cream between them.

@JourneymanGeek thanks!
@MetaAndrewT. why?
@Rob no ice cream at work, and too lazy to go and buy.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating eat em

Also, desk isn't clean enough.

EAT EM ALLLLLLL

@JourneymanGeek sure, but with more coffee? Or wait for tomorrow? :D

Rob
3:43 PM
Do you have pencil shavings?

Let's see how bad the situation will be on New Year's :/

Rob
Then, cleanliness of the desk is not an issue.

@MetaAndrewT. Depends

Rob
4:21 PM
CES, on the 12th of January will improve the New Year.

4:34 PM
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Oh, I didn't see that :)
!!/tea sha

@TechExpertWizard brews a cup of mint tea for @sha

@TechExpertWizard hard to see, true.

@sha The reason it's hard to see is there's a huge photo to the right of it, so that small reply arrow just becomes unnoticable :)

@TechExpertWizard correct

@sha I'd recommend you to say "correct" like that if you were in the Den so that @FOX9000 could respond/reply to you, but there's no @FOX9000 here.

4:51 PM
@TechExpertWizard true

@sha true true :)

Am I permanently banned from asking questions, or would enough positively scored answers or time lift the ban?

> If you're unable to improve your existing questions, you'll get the chance to ask a new one 6 months after your last question. Your ban is immediately reinstated once that question is posted, but a single question could be enough to lift you out of the block.
Answers do not affect a question ban.

It says "The ban will be lifted automatically by the system when it determines that your positive contributions outweigh the cost of those questions which were poorly received."
Does that include anything besides questions?

Hmm, pretty misleading.
Any tips on how to improve this? Honestly, I don't even know why it got downvoted so heavily.

@AnnZen Probably because it's asking about an obscure corner case which nobody is really interested in. So it got down voted as not useful.

10:36 PM
I think there's a couple errors in the unicorn questionnaire:
1) the reversal badge is not longer awarded, but the question is in present tense
2) Area51 is technically a "main" site, and "Area51 Discussion Zone" is its Meta site

@DavidPostill oh

@user1271772 2) there's kinda a specific way to check
but telling that would reveal the answer

I know the answer and I got it correct

I seem to recall you can answer nearly everything off meta or the blog

However I think the answer should be 1 more than what "the answer" is

11:11 PM
@Ollie Unfortunately no, in large part due to limitations of the SE API requiring extra calls to get the network profile IDs.

11:26 PM
@sha Coronapun? That's even more punnier and funnier. And that's another pun about fun and puns X-D :)

Rob
@RyanM Network User IDs are accepted for !!/allspam <user URL>, which suggests that it would recurse through everything, everywhere. -- Not "identical" to a network-wide blu, it only tpus them on every post, where it currently exists - which while not the same certainly does something effective.
