2/ I would say, hold us to account. I feel proud of our team’s follow through on the Q2 community roadmap we posted, and I’m optimistic we will do the same for the Q3 roadmap posted last week. @Mithical they do seem to be on a path to improvement right now, that's at least something. I don't expect a good response to my post though, they won't publicly say that the non-technical sites play no role in their strategy anymore
not just that. How would you monetize cooking? You'd have to have someone who is good with the topic to choose advertisers and to make the case to them
I don't think they have a subject matter expert for every medium size community they have

waves awkwardly Err, so I just noticed that the tag excerpt for bug on the Tags page starts with the words "OFF-TOPIC", which is not really ideal. It seems like a small thing to make a post about, and at the same time I'm also not sure what combination of words will ensure that first part ("GENERAL DEBUGGING QUESTIONS ARE") is not cut off. It'll probably be annoying if I try out various suggested edits, so I thought I might bring it up here.

@MadScientist Out of the first 20 sites / sorted by traffic the non-technical sites get over a million visitors per day; along with the numerous visitors to the remaining hundred+ non-technical sites with much lower traffic. --- While it may not be 'part of the strategy' such sites have avid users, people who are not 100% nerds, and trimming the fat may simply leave them with meat that is too lean to be tasty.
Yeah, I admit that if I have a bag of drop at home it won't stay closed long or lives another day ... so ... just trying to navigate in the AH past the candy .... it is hard.

If a post is edited, any pending VLQ flags are now cleared (without harm) from the post. It is unclear that a post is still VLQ if it has been edited since it was flagged.

The post is flagged for moderator review
The community user casts a downvote on the post if the flag is validated
Optionally, the flagger can also cast a downvote. Some strange magic happens if the post is subsequentl...

@shog they're too busy answering the crappiest of crap questions, and extremely well. No matter how many negative votes the question gets, they'll still earn +40 or more for a good answer... and if the question is closed, that doesn't affect their ability to continue to gain rep from their good answer to that godawful question forever. Until I click "delete" on the parent question, that is.. (now, if the answer is Eric freakin' Lippert quality I won't be deleting the question.) With spam flags at least, (as of a couple of weeks ago), retracting the flag doesn't undo the automatic downvote - though the user who the automatic downvote was made on behalf of can undownvote.
@AnnZen You can look at the timeline to see the history of actions on the post. The revision history also shows deletions and undeletions, and some other post actions.
the previous one you asked about was undeleted, and promptly re-deleted. likely a mistake, or just clearing the undelete votes for whatever reason. don't really see anything of interest there
@AnnZen That appears to be the removal of your net reputation gain from the answer on that question and 2 points which I assume you received for editing the question, which has also been deleted.

@AnnZen I understand, but I wouldn't have made the statement that it was the most likely thing, based on viewing the question page, unless I'd seen that you edited the question.
@AnnZen The process @user400654 described is accurate (adding :<message ID>). However, I have a userscript which adds the reply button to my own posts, so I just clicked on the reply button.
@Rob Ahh, that looks like one of those really annoying tests mine has, where they fire some air at your eyeball... I think it's to measure eyeball pressure or something like that.
@JohnDvorak I suspect this is not possible. Without an edit, there's no reason for the system to re-evaluate your message's text to see if it's a reply. Replies are indicated as a separate field in the database, or at least it's a separate field in the message event data. There's every reason to have designed the system so the evaluation of the text checking for replies, Markdown, etc., only happens when the message is initially posted, or when edited. It would be wasteful if done at other times.
