Will whoever is upvoting blatantly off-topic questions please stop?

@SonictheMaskedWerehog trying to break the system? (Want to check something about reviewing edits, but there are none at the moment.) .. ;)

@Magisch That is not how I raised you young man!

@RobertColumbia okay
@SonictheMaskedWerehog and I thought I was joking :)

8:09 AM
@RobertColumbia doubt they visit this room, but yeah it's irritating.
@M.A.R. and how your father reacted to your avatar?

@RobertColumbia @Sha it might be an ill-conceived plan to obtain an Electorate badge; it could only succeed if they are very close and the questions are not deleted quickly enough. Such activity does show up in an audit, that they upvoted a lot of questions that were subsequently deleted; calling into question their voting habits.

2:04 PM
@Rob nah, they could find other questions to upvote.

meta.stackexchange.com/q/350041/369802 < I'm smelling dinner, so I'm expecting I can't finish that one. Keep it nice, and close it if necessary? :)

I believe we'll close it and behave. Good appetite @tink.

Thanks! :)

@ShadowWizardWearingMask He needs to see it first
He only vaguely knows that I participate in a site called Stack Exchange, and that it has a chat.
He doesn't even know what to think of chatting much. He's gotten to use Telegram, partly out of necessity and partly out of interest, but that's that.
@Tinkeringbell gasps, I am slighted that you even pondered us not demonstrating our best behavior towards this young fellow Sips British tea
Our last generation, the one equivalent to folks around your age, @Sha, has mostly kept traditional. It tries, at least, in treating technology as foreign, perhaps a bit queer, not to be shackled by it, even as some forms become widely recognized and do so
I remember vividly. Bluetooth technology came along (at least here), and people got infected by it as if by a plague. Then was the text messaging. It's been a decade or a few years less that all the big-screened touch phones have become the latest strain, but at least the older generations haven't caught up with all the fancy new peculiar possibilities
Or maybe it's just a father that trusts the son enough not to have checked my online activity much ever since I did become online

@ShadowWizardWearingMask So ..., they do it simply to annoy? - nah, they could find other ways and places to ...

@M.A.R. nice speech! But I'm pretty sure most parents are like that, not checking their child's activity in depth. ;)

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Squints Suuure.

@Rob yes I believe they're doing it to harm the system in whatever tools they have, aka frustrated users.
Lots of people left meta in bad terms, slamming the door behind them, so if one of those want to "revenge"...

What if the door wants revenge?

@M.A.R. Yeah, well, you never know ;)

The ones who come back to tell you they are leaving for good, the last you'll hear from them!!; then return weeks to months later to reslam the door.
The antipole of the employer who you tell you are leaving, they don't seem to care until you actually have one foot out the door; then if you come back for a visit, like even at Christmas, to wish everyone well and see how they are doing the owner is aloof; like there's hard feelings when previously they could care less.

5:05 PM
@M.A.R. it can lock itself, and eat the key. 🗝

It would literally unlock itself by trying to eat the key

Doors at your places are scary.

@Tinkeringbell my door has no lock.
It obeys mental commands.
Or disobeys, depends on its mood.

Mine doesn't have a lock either. But at least it's not scary either, unless there's a ghost standing in front of it. Which I swear happened back when I was 6!

So someone is unhappy about unresponsive staff after THREE WHOLE WEEKS without feedback?
This must be 2020.

My bug reports rarely take 3 hours before someone is working on them; though there are a couple that haven't been resolved over the years, sometimes they get overwritten (fixed) by redesign (which would have left energy expended on a short term fix, wasted). - If they want to leave them that's up to them, it's their computer.

@DavidPostill nice question!

@DavidPostill nice question!

It's a really good one though... I wonder why no one thought of it sooner!

@Tinkeringbell I did a couple of days ago, but I've only just had the time to write it! :)
We were discussing it in TL.

6:51 PM
@Tinkeringbell I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm too distracted and uncaring ATM. I have no real engagement with any SE site
Maybe it's like the busy street when no one stands still for a moment to see things and think about them ATM, they just pass through
Can you say you find the same passion in trying to fix things on SE sites as before?

@M.A.R. I'm still passionately engaged with Super User and being a mod there, so I always have an eye open for ways to make modding easier which often involves typing less if I can ... or other mod improvements. I really like the mod scripts but my programming skills in that area are not good enough to create my own.
If I can make my life easier I will. It frees up time to do other things ...

7:08 PM
@DavidPostill Ah, must've missed that scrolling through transcript :) writing these things can be a pain, yeah

LOL, Meta. Yeah, don't do that; now you know.
