@TimStone Do you play Terraria?

Nope

Friend got it for me.
Looking to get more people on our multiplayer server.
It's on sale, I think.

Q: If 1 = 1? (who created computers)

ZenphWho created programming, computers, even way back before then, who fused thought with machine code and then went on to create machines to process those thoughts? ...and are we not just living a reality of how he thought we should speak to computers? ...and if so, who are the great thinkers who ...

The StackExchange™ SuperCollider MultiDropdown™ notification icon is now animated? :P

4:15 PM
@TimStone It was for a pretty long time
To draw attention if you haven't read it for a while I believe

Ohh...yes...I remember that now. I haven't seen it in forever, huh.

4:53 PM
Hello everyone! :-)
When question A is closed as duplicate of question B, how can we get the answers from a migrated over to B?
Does this require a moderator, or a 10k user can do it?

5:03 PM
As far as I know, the only way to go about that is to merge the questions, which would require a moderator.

Ok, I proposed 2 edit suggestions, nearly identical. The same 2 people approved one and rejected the other. ?!?!

@TimStone So I'd need to flag it for attention then, right?

Yep, if you feel that it definitely needs to be merged, flagging for attention is the way to go.
@BobCratchit Links or didn't happen! (OK, based on how people handle suggested edits, I know it did happen, but I'm interested to see them anyway :P)

Yeah, that's...yeah. shakes head

5:09 PM
@TimStone Ok good. I'm glad I'm not missing something horribly obvious to everyone else. :P

5:38 PM
@BobCratchit Wait a minute...I don't understand what happened there

@Chris What I did in my edit?
Or why I brought this to the attention of this room?

@BobCratchit No, I mean: why was it rejected?

Character encoding is causing me a challenge now.
Yay... /O\

@Chris That's my point. That one was rejected while another nearly identical one was accepted by the same 2 people.

Ah, sorry, I didn't look at the names of the two reviewers that closely
weird
@TimStone Any idea when the following bug will be fixed?

Q: Why can't I permalink to this Data Explorer query?

ChrisWhy does this Data Explorer query explode (on Firefox 7.0.1, Mac OS X 10.6.8)? I can run the query once, when I compose it for the first time, but all further attempts to access it from my profile or a permalink result in the JSON (?) dump above. Any ideas?

5:54 PM
I'm not sure. :/

Ah, okay

Well, correction, I think it's already fixed, but there are some...complications that will prevent it from being deployed.

Huh
Could you update your answer with that info?

Yeah...let me check into it a bit more. Either way, you can continue to blame me.

Eh, it's not a big deal. I just wanted to make sure that someone was still aware that the issue was outstanding
It has been over two months and you mentioned having a "quick fix"

6:00 PM
Yeah, people are certainly aware.
Heh, yes...The hold-up is completely unrelated to this particular problem.

Meh ... I'm don't know what to do. Should I learn CoffeeScript or not?

Absolutely not.
Don't make me have Raynos rage at you!

Oh god. I'll shut up already.

;)

Thanks @TimStone!

7:30 PM
so, when you delete your own answer it shows as gray underneath...can other people still see that? will it go away eventually?

@ScottW Users from 10k and higher can see those deleted posts.

forever?

7:48 PM
Theoretically, yes

ok, thanks both

I'm having difficulty grokking how I'm supposed to set up an Oracle database. Sigh.

Well, it is an Oracle database. What's the problem?

Probably that I'm using the command line.

8:03 PM
Heh

I have an app which uses two databases in MSSQL, "aspnetdb" and "appspecificdb"
I have no idea how to tell it to create those two different things and create tables in them.
I gather I'm in a thing called 'sys' and can create tables in it.

I think I'll start downvoting every answer that is only a Use this: { // Chunk of code } answer from now on.

Just because I can and I'm fed up.

Soo, apparently I want a schema, which is really a user.
Got it.
Or is it tablespace. How you vex me o documentation.

In Oracle, I'm pretty sure you want a schema.
If I recall correctly, "database" in Oracle is more like a MSSQL instance

Looks like it.
Tablespace is just the physical file store, which just happens to usually map to 'database' in MSSQL.
And schema is this weird extra thing which isn't usually useful.

8:23 PM
@OctavianDamiean haha those answers aren't usually useful...I hope I haven't done those!

8:42 PM
Oy, finally.
