@Bart Doesn't everybody do that...?

Most people don't pause it, they spin the tetramino around rapidly so it stays there.

Too much effort

8:58 AM
@Tinkeringbell modern Tetris will hide the screen when pausing. ;)

@Shree YOU'RE TOO LATE MWAHAHAHA

that comment was rather... unfriendly

9:31 AM
What comment, Journey's?

:D @JourneymanGeek

@forest naw, the one left on the deleted post

ah

@Mithrandir at some point we need to sit down and make a repo of good canned comments ;p

"the quality of this post is also abysmal"

9:31 AM
I was about to say...
@Mithrandir Well, was it?

ehhh

@Mithrandir I was going to say ... it is true though it could be stated a little more diplomatically

Yeah, that.

I like "Its unlikely to survive elsewhere in its current form"

But that sounds passive aggressive and offends my delicate sentiments.

9:34 AM
Well then, you can grow a thicker skin ;)

:P

...I can't, literally... ;)

And there's an essential point here - we don't just want to chastise. We want to reach those people we can literally help
@Mithrandir bit of an inside joke there

Are we now determining on a word by word base what should and shouldn't be edited? :/

Clearly any word shorter than six characters can't even be edited under current rules. That includes all i's, alots and even tanks in advantage can only be fixed but not deleted.

But stackoverflow can get a space... and internet/Internet is longer too... ? Is this on a 'word' basis or 'characters changed'?

It's a bit hard to delete an entire tank.

No it isn't
You just need enough hydrofluoric acid

Well that's the hard part, innit.

11:59 AM
You just need the right connections
I'd give out Walter's number but that'd violate some rule
BBL next treadmill jog

So is it Stackoverflow or Stack Overflow?

Stack Overflow. Definitely. Anybody who says otherwise is a heathen and will be burned at the stake.

So adding the space is a trivial edit ;)

@Tinkeringbell definately with the space
@Tinkeringbell hopefully no

@Mithrandir No pausing!

I wonder if SE will realize that the site themes are bland, and way over-compensate with it ending up looking like this:
I would love to see that tbh.

...wat

@forest no

I would love it.

@Tinkeringbell I feel like mari's problem is with bumping.

@JourneymanGeek Writing an answer now too ;)

I propose, as a temporary solution, we have inPaint + DeepDream generate user backgrounds from their profile photos.

I second that solution.

I hasten to add it was my downvote ...

@rene Its fine.
and I appreciate the comment
and really wish there's a better answer than "its a mod thing"

I'm working on a new userscript: TrivialEditor 2000™ which makes one space edits to any MSE post. Just to see where the edge is of what we can tolerate.

._.
@rene funny thing is I did several hundred "trivial" edits to fix tags over a period of 3 months.

@JourneymanGeek the message should be: anyone with full edit privilege should improve posts that got bumped for a trivial edit. There are plenty of ways to reach-out to editors by the community. That doesn't need to be covered by mod support. That is bound to escalate.
But it is your call, you have the diamond.

@rene eh, this is also as a normal user

Your answer doesn't read as if you are responding as a normal user?

12:39 PM
until the end, sure
but I'm kinda unclear to how you would propose to reach out to an editor outside chat.
post a comment on one of their other posts?

You can ping them in a comment under the post they edited?

even if its not their post?

yep
Some CM making fun of me ;)

ah ok
I've suggested that as a first round, and a flag if that dosen't work then

Okay, I can live with that. I un-down-voted and cleaned up my comments

12:45 PM
cheers
Feel free to give input like that ;p
I'm both old and new as a mod, so I think there's a bit of a learning curve, both on my side, and folks getting used to the way I do things.

😇

Or maybe it is. What calendar do plants use?

@ɪBᴜɢ May I ask why that carries spam flags?

@Tinkeringbell the question? I don't know, shouldn't be

@Tinkeringbell It's fleshy

@Tinkeringbell because the newest answer link to their own website?

@ɪBᴜɢ not seeing the benefit there

too good to do food

Celery stew with tomato paste

nope
It would be considerably easier to construct a sentence with all words ending in the same letter in Italian than English.

hm. I can think of two people who would dislike that ;p
@Tinkeringbell hates tomato. I don't particularly like celery.

tomato cooked with ketchup?

If you don't like celery it just means you're cooking it wrong

1:18 PM
I particularly hate celery, too
but I particularly like salary
so if you do s/c/s/;s/e/a/g then I'd appreciate that :)

And loads of Iranian stews use tomato paste. Back on dialysis when I couldn't have anything tomato life was elongated torture
You guys know so little about celery!
Then again, this is coming from a weirdo who has 1 kg or 2.20462 pounds of low fat yogurt
Every day
Is everyone googling how to cook celery so it'd taste good?

just eat it raw?
in a salad

:D

Yeah, who cooks celery? o_O

1:28 PM
I can't eat anything raw

@Mithrandir The same people that eat bread and sprinkles without butter ;)

Bread and... sprinkles?

Either cook it, or suffer a kidney infection. I'd rather not have hospital food for 10 more days, thank you very much

@Mithrandir soup. It's pretty much required for soup.

valid

the butter part scares me
also...
What about the sort of people who make tomato soup... with lots of little chunks of pear in it?

1:41 PM
pear?

That's a new one to me...

I was a little surprised too. Was at army ;p
the food was exceptionally terribad this time

it does sound better than tomato chunks :P

oh lots of that
tomato with every meal
but but... pears
@Tinkeringbell I used to make nutella, peanutbutter and chocolate chip sandwiches ;p

In SE chat (not in this chat room), what's the easiest way to list all my chat lines from a room that are starred, or all my chat lines anywhere that are starred?
I know how to list all starred lines in a chat room, but most of them aren't my lines.

7:47 PM
5
A: How can I see chat messages starred by others?

CatijaIf you know which room/s you might have been in, you can look at the star histories. For example, here's the stars list for the Tavern on the Meta. On that page, you can sort by either items you've starred or things you've posted that were starred: You get to this page by clicking on the "show...

That only gets you the starred messages from a specific room, though.

8:05 PM
@b_jonas On a per-room base, you can just click the 'show all ...' above the star bar, and then you can choose to see either all stars, things you starred or things written by you that were starred on the next page, below the room info.
I don't know if there's such a thing for 'anywhere' though. I don't think so.

8:22 PM
@Tinkeringbell Thanks.
@Alex Thanks

@b_jonas You're Welcome.

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog no, those leave a trace for 10k users.
Also, the auto conversion takes place only when there's short text and link to the same site, as far as I remember.

@ShadowWizard No; manual moderator conversions do, but automatic ones done by the system don't.

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog not even in timeline? hmm...

The user's had an account for less than an hour, and I see no deleted posts in /tools that would've given it 5 rep to comment.
