Anyone with more experience with Linux Mint than me wants to check this answer? Based on my understanding, this is misleading at least. @Blue Tag badges show that you have expertise in an area. Reputation shows that you've proven to the community that you know what you're talking about. I have a difficult time imagining SE being willing to verify that someone's actually an "expert" in a subject and grant them a special badge.

@Catija Right. Verifying that someone is a expert and actively working in the industry is a difficult task. We would need a blue tick feature like they have on Twitter/Quora etc., which I don't see happening anytime soon. Secondly, it would give some unfair weight-age to the answers/opinions given by the people with those ticks. I wouldn't want SE to replicate that model

We have a couple of programmes for people that donate time and money to CiviCRM. We'd like to be able to recognise these people when they come to stack exchange. Is there any way recognise arbitrary people here? Can we add custom fields to stack exchange profiles, for example?

And you wouldn't have to ship anything to people... so it wouldn't have the overhead of physical swag...

And, often, companies will pony up dough to have you offer branded content like that... so someone could buy a Chrome hat or an Android head, for example.

I was assuming the same hat system as Winter Bash. If they can't escape the frame, they could just be part of your avatar.

@Blue Looks great! I think your formatting might use some work? I think with how big your second paragraph is, you probably'd be better off using headers than bullet points.

Alternately, you can actually put paragraph breaks inside bullets.

@Blue Nice update... though, the "let us remove accepts" has been argued and lost repeatedly... so maybe save it for a separate post? If an accepted answer is harmfully incorrect, a moderator can remove it. But we're more likely to get them to stop pinning the accepted answer above the highest voted one than the ability to remove the check mark.

I'd hate for your answer to be downvoted because people disagree with that last paragraph.

@Blue Nope. :) Not for a while, and will probably note list employees at any time in the future. We will, however, be linking it to GitHub, and other resources. Already well into Enterprise accounts so not too worried about that angle too much. I do however want a news section and updates etc. Which we're currently working on. We're also adding a section about the standards and open source work we're doing.
