@TelautonomousKitty she will come and visit and run around. When I let her off she's trying to escape under the gates! She is attracted to roads and this one is busy in a 100 km/h zone!

user310756
@TelautonomousKitty she was really starved, the foal is probably small :'[ - I'm feeding her supplements, vitamins and now - huge hard feeds, 4-5 times what you'd see me feed the girls. She's got hay and there's plenty of grass. It's really hard to put weight on her, with the foal growing rapidly - it will be hard to put weight on her when the foal is born - uses up even more energy lactating

Also, can you please summon @animuson here?

@Ano animuson is out. Please refrain from pinging him.

Ano
That wasn't a ping. He's not pingable here.

also we don't summon people

@Ano That wasn't what I asked.
Listen next time.

Ano
Well, then what did you ask?

9:45 PM
I asked you to please refrain from pinging animuson. Can you do that?

Ano
Yes. By the way, I never pinged him. He's not pingable here in this room.

Thank you.

Ano
I didn't go to any other chat room in which he's pingable
Can you please explain the 30-second kick to me?

I did already.

Ano
For pinging animuson? I didn't ping him in the first place.
Or for not initially acknowledging that I shouldn't ping him anywhere else? That doesn't merit a kick in my opinion.

9:48 PM
It's not your call.
Now, to your first question: I'm not aware of a migration script to rewrite programmers links on MSE. There are numerous outstanding links to the old domain; some have been rewritten manually.

Ano
I could have sworn I saw Community editing most of them.

we could do that, but there's no particular reason to
the old links work just fine
Of course, you may have seen a user-edit suggested by a now-deleted user?

Ano
Then why mass-edit HTTP links to HTTPS links if "the old links work just fine"?

Because they don't necessarily work just fine

Ano
Then why didn't Community edit that post's HTTP link to Programmers into an HTTPS link to Software Engineering?

9:50 PM
THAT'S a good question

Ano
Also, are all CMs pingable even though they're not listed in /rooms/pingable/[room-number]?

probably not?
I never remember how that works

Ano
So then why get so mad that you're willing to kick me over a ping that never took place?

I'm not mad. I'm irritated that you decided to argue rather than acknowledge my perfectly-reasonable request.

Ano
If he was pingable, I would have omitted the "@".

9:53 PM
If he was pingable, then you wouldn't have needed to ping me and I'd have been just as irritated.

Ano
I never pinged anyone after my message containing "@animuson".

Again, you're arguing an irrelevant point here

Ano
Well, my thinking was "I got accused of doing something I didn't do, so I have to defend myself"
That's my natural thinking.

you pinged me and then asked me to do something
that you didn't ask me to do something and then ping me is not a point I'm particularly concerned about
AH!
I see what happened
Observe the edit summary here: meta.stackexchange.com/posts/284424/revisions

Q: Old HTTP links to SE sites without ending / weren't converted to HTTPS links

AnoAbout a year ago, several migration scripts were run to change old HTTP network-internal links across the network to HTTPS links. However, it appears that the script didn't modify links that lack the ending /. For example: 303 results for http://stackoverflow.com 194 results for http://superuse...

Ironically, one link with the ending / wasn't converted. Appears to be a lone case.

@JourneymanGeek But IE10 is special. It was short-lived and only included with an unpopular version of Windows, the original Windows 8. Windows 7 likely either has the original 8 or 11, not 9 or 10.

Anonymous
10:48 PM
@Ano You are obviously correct about this, but you aren't going to get a quick response because no individual (at least none that hangs out here) is authorized to declare a policy, and the default position is something like "well support it if it's easy I guess" so there probably isn't a firm policy against implementing IE10 support.

Ano
animuson commented about that on MSO, and I quoted him in my MSE post. (FYI, that's why I asked Shog to summon animuson there.)

Anonymous
I agree that IE10 is not really a justifiable support cut-off for anyone, and have spent a while making exactly that case to a previous boss.

Ano
@JonEricson What do you mean?

Anonymous
@Ano That was a quip about me accusing some other sites of awarding incoherent rants with rep, while harvesting such rep on MSE.

Ano
@gparyani That doesn't necessarily mean anything, given IE has been abandoned in favor of Edge. That's like saying we indefinitely support IE10 because there will never be a version 12+. Not gonna happen. Generally if it's an easy fix someone will make it. Otherwise it's safe to say IE10 is unsupported. — animuson ♦ Feb 28 at 6:02

10:55 PM
Eventually we're going to drop IE10 support. When? No idea. But honestly, developing a strict policy on this is incredibly low on the priority list right now. It simply doesn't matter - we'll make things work as much as we reasonably can in the meantime.
I know you want a specific answer here, but there isn't one. Pinging people every day/week/whatever isn't gonna change that.

Ano
What percent of SE visitors use IE10?
IE11 doesn't seem to experience bugs for the most part

Anonymous
Stack Exchange has never had a concrete specific browser support policy. It's always been a little handy-wavy and under-specified, deliberately. I wouldn't expect that to change.

Ano
@AdamLear Can you respond to the MSE post with that? I just wanted an official response, not a firm "yes" or "no".
@JourneymanGeek I see you lurking

@Ano are you considering moving on from IE10?

Ano
No, I use Windows 10.

Ano
@Shog9 No.

Unless this personally affects you in some major way, you don't really need an answer right now.
So, be patient.

Ano
So can you clarify animuson's comment saying that it's "safe to say" it's unsupported?

I could, but I won't

IE10 was the first version of IE to fully pass the Acid3 test.
