@Sha, above is my code for opening a new window, which renders buttons on parent window unclickable

they get the click, but the function is performed only after I close the new tab opened by this code

so, what I am doing is, opening the new tab in response from ajax call, because that's where I get the response that I have to print

@DroidDev not sure what you're doing there (yet), but yeah it's not standard window.open usage at all. Why you need a new window at all? AJAX exists to avoid using such things.

So all in all... no idea what's going on, logic-wise.

If you need to send something to the server, use standard AJAX, no need for window.open

so, that's what all the printing is for

object of new window can't be created inside ajax, so that's why I am creating it before calling agax

@DroidDev well, it's blocked due to the .print() command

You should put "Print" button in the new tab which will execute the window.print() then the parent won't be disabled.

@ShadowWizard yeah, I did that. The thing is, it don't open print preview that way. It just opens the document and that's not what I want. I think the requirements they want are not possible the way they want. Print preview has to be dealt with on priority, otherwise, parent will just be in suspended state
