@Marshmallow Wait, @bjb568 is using an API? This is... quite a turn of event.

lol

Grr, I deleted a bunch of questions and forgot to downvote each prior to casting the last delete vote. :/ An opportunity for instantly-refunded DVs lost

I guess it would've mattered for q-block/limit purposes...

user315433
Slightly. I don't think they make much difference on Math. Developers may be tied to their computer with an IDE, network access, etc set up; schoolkids can post HW from any nearby computer, like from a lab.

user315433
Math.SE still does not require registration to ask a question...

12:15 AM
Maybe you should yell and scream at gently poke Shog with a non-sharp stick?

> I wouldn't turn it off again, but I wouldn't encourage sites with less traffic to enable it either.
That kinda makes an argument for Mathematics to require registration, though. Math has a lot more traffic than Programmers.

user315433
> It probably improved the effectiveness of the quality ban slightly

True. I just wouldn't expect it to make a noticeable difference.

@bjb Do you happen to know if there's a state law that might prevent me from, for example, bringing a wifi jammer (raspberry pi + wifi dongle) to school the week of state tests? Asking for a friend

user315433
There is now Law... but in situations like this, its more likely that some part of the school's IT policy would kick in.

@SantaClaus You ain't breaking any laws if nobody catches you…

@Marshmallow @bjb Of course, you're both right. I was just curious if there was some offense for "inhibiting the administration of state tests".
Maybe there will be next year...
If my school's IT department of 1 figures it out I'll be surprised though

@Shog9 I've moved all the question/vote querying over to the API and put in a bunch of hard-limits for the requests. The only thing not using the API is the 10k tools/review history (which queries once every 5 minutes). I'm currently just running it locally - when you've got a chance, could you let me know if it's all good to deploy?

@bjb568 duh.

In geometry, a Coxeter–Dynkin diagram (or Coxeter diagram, Coxeter graph) is a graph with numerically labeled edges (called branches) representing the spatial relations between a collection of mirrors (or reflecting hyperplanes). It describes a kaleidoscopic construction: each graph "node" represents a mirror (domain facet) and the label attached to a branch encodes the dihedral angle order between two mirrors (on a domain ridge). An unlabeled branch implicitly represents order-3. Each diagram represents a Coxeter group, and Coxeter groups are classified by their associated diagrams. Dynkin diagrams...

That's a 4 core (8 with hyperthreads) CPU.

So? You went cheap, don't complain now ...

Hey, I didn't want to get an extreme edition or a Xeon...

Just push the stuff and let the buildserver sort it out. If you broke the build someone else will fix it on their next push...

Oh, you can still pretend you're on a team, right?

8:47 PM
I guess... so @rene, wanna help me build a buildserver? :P

@hichris123 didn't someone here mention GPU based compiling?
I assume the GPU is slacking atm

Nick's working on GPU for the tag engine, but I don't think anyone mentioned GPU for compilation.

OK, then I just claimed that idea ...

be sure to patent it.
Offer still stands for the buildserver, though. :P

Yes, I'll find a lawyer first before I do any work...
@hichris123 you need a box on a host somewhere. And I have only some limited experience with Jenkins.

8:51 PM
I don't have the money for that. :P To get a working Chromium build on even this CPU is 1+ hours.

Do you push to a local repo or to GitHub?
@hichris123 Is that gcc on linux?

For what? For local dev, it's all local. For uploading changes, it's on a custom git platform (GitHub hates repos over 1GB and I'd hate to think what Chromium's is...)
@rene clang + linux is probably 1 hour, since I'm on Windows + VS... probably closer to 90 minutes.
Currently we're at [12862/21775] ~50 minutes in.

And you're CPU bound on the compile process, right? Not because some viruscanner tries to scan all the changed/read files?

yep. For linking, I'm definitely IO bound. But for compilation it's all CPU.

You're out of options then, find an extra job to pay for better hardware ...
sorry ;)

8:57 PM
With a lot of these files, they have a ton of includes. Especially for the Blink (WebKit) ones, I think someone said ~75% of files end up including like 5 files at the end. Precompiled headers would definitely help...

Google Translate says "paper round"...

Newspaper delivery.
Delivering newspapers is the name for the delivery of newspapers in a district that the deliverer can make money. Young people take a paper route to supplement their pocket money. The time effort each day is limited between one and a half hours. Someone who has a paper route you call a newspaper deliveryman.

Research shows that a paper route has no negative impact on school performance.

it has during the last days of the year, a year-end tip on the thirteenth month.

Advertising deliverers have a folder district, magazine deliverers magazine district.

The International Fixed calendar (also known as the Cotsworth plan, the Eastman plan, the 13 Month calendar or the Equal Month calendar) is a solar calendar proposal for calendar reform designed by Moses B. Cotsworth, who presented it in 1902. It provides for a year of 13 months of 28 days each. It is therefore a perennial calendar, with every date fixed always on the same weekday. Though it was never officially adopted in any country, it was the official calendar of the Eastman Kodak Company from 1928 to 1989. It is also the official calendar of UK supermarket Sainsbury's. == Rules == The calendar...
