@b_jonas I had the exactly opposite impression: the episode used fan fiction as a source of ideas for the alternate futures.
Anyway, we now know the plot of Season 6 premiere: Rainbow Dash tries to hijack the map because she wants to go to the "Sombra War" future...
(but seriously, what was the ending meant to mean? Will Starlight Glimmer stuck around or is she supposed to return to the village and become a recurring character?)
Are they going to become the backup main six?
Derpy: the Element of Security (meaning that you can be sure she will break something :P)
Trixie: Element of Entertainment (same as Pinkie, but you need to buy your ticket first)
Moon Dancer: Element of Gurren Truth (Don't be true to yourself, Moon Dancer. Be true to me who is true to you)
Rara: Element of Charity (wait, there is one that actually works??)
Starlight: Element of I could be Kind if I tried (really, do you realize you just did exactly what Sombra did? And at least he had a bigger problem....)
and finally:
Discord: Element of Best Princes (Trolling is Life)
@b_jonas I think that the movie will have a villain that will make Tirek seem a nice diversion. That one empty land was the result.
On a different, unrelated, notice. I just realized that the image from the CCG card was no were to be found in the finale. So that must be from season 6
I don't know really, because I can imagine lots of different causes. Besides yaks, Nightmare Twilight from the human world tearing up the spacetime with portal rifts is another one.
Tornado Bolt is a changeling, I'm so happy with that. Scootaloo is not alone in Ponyville secretly hiding as a changeling.
@b_jonas During the whole ending song, I had a mental picture of the post credit hasbro logo begin replaced by a clip of EG3 ending. Pony Twily pulls out Starlight from the portal and goes something like "BTW, I have found the real genius that made all the rifts with all the jumping back and fort thru time. Fluttershy, do you still need that workers for the animal care clinic? I am so leaving her here for a while".
there are so many brilliant spoof that this finale could have.
I want an alternate version of the "you are needing more than that" Starlight quote when Twilight replies with the Kamehameha beam from the season 4 finale.
@b_jonas I hope they weren't fool enough to have him running around all the time and never check him with the magic paint/sand/mud. My canon is that the original one was replaced just before Chrysalis's attack
Between the first and second alternate future, when Starlight encases Twilight in a solid block and drops that block from Cloudsdale to the ground, then there's an ad break, then Twilight breaks herself out from the block magically while she's still quite far from the ground, were you also disappointed because she's ruined the chance for Rainbow Dash or Scootaloo to rescue them the last second, with possibly a Sonic Rainbow?
Also later, when Zecora says "Beneath this salve, no changeling hides, for it reveals the truth inside.", were you afraid that it would turn Twilight back to a blankflank unicorn with very little magical talent who's never seen the Sonic Rainbow?
I am also guilt of having hope for a less pacific finale.
I hoped that in the end all the ponies from the alternate future would have come in, because the portals didn't really close well, and they would be as expected a little mad...
But really, I didn't get if the finale means "you have won a new main character" or what.
