whats up

@Rubén What even is that?

That's almost a self-fulfilling Q&A if only the question was asking about reporting spam on SE :|

Hi @Shog9, when you have a chance, could you take a look at what's going on with this,

user163250
The linked answer has been voted to be undeleted, and is now getting serial downvotes. Are the voters stupid people who directly follow the link after reading this question just to downvote it without reading, or are they super-clever, and have a way better answer (which they do not want to share)? It is contradictory that an answer that was good enough to be voted to be undeleted is receiving negative points. If you are editing/undeleting, at the same time, you have to deal with these guys. — sawa 15 hours ago

user163250
Looking at the revision history, it looks like the sawa deleted the question, then it was reopened by 3 users, at which point it received downvotes, and then re-deleted by sawa again.

user163250
I didn't want to bring this up on MSO more than it already has been, because that whole situation already has enough drama as it is.

user163250
Maybe don't ruin your Sunday over it though, probably can put off until tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

1:56 AM
I wish it waas still sunday here
that'd be nice

user202362
2:06 AM
I was actually amazed when balpha answered my ping on a Sunday last time. Utterly amazed :)

@Cupcake so... I'm willing to bet the bit that bothers me about that isn't what you're trying to draw attention to. Mind being more specific?

Is there a list somewhere of the times each SE site graduated from beta (if they have)? Or at least when they got a new non-beta interface?

user202362
Oo

@Calvin'sHobbies sorta

2:10 AM
I could generate a somewhat better list, but it'd still be wrong currently because of design-independent graduation
It's always possible that Ol' Slim maintains a list for his own purposes, I suppose. Never know about that guy...

Isn't there like a folder of all site CSS files or something?

@Shog9 Yeah, I'd like to see more data, but thanks for that link anyhow

the timestamps on those would almost certainly not correspond to the actual graduation date

at least it'd be a list of sites.

user202362
I wonder ... should there be a site asking which sub-site a question should belong to? I often have questions that 60% fits into site A, 35% fit into site B and 28% fit into site C ... but that's only my judgement, someone else could have a complete different opinion when wording of the question is altered slightly.

2:15 AM
@chmod711telkitty I'm for that. (But I doubt it will happen.)

user202362
For example, I often hear some snoring sound in the gigantic tree next to my bedroom. I want to ask what creature that might be - having a video of the dark environment and the snoring sound. I look at the list of sites: biology, the great outdoors & pets. It doesn't really fit into anything ...

user202362
@Calvin'sHobbies it kind of fits into meta, and it kind of doesn't

user259867

user259867
In terms of the API, the new "non-design" graduation is not considered graduation.

@MiceElf Thanks!

user259867
2:28 AM
Now I don't know if I should give up on that list being automatically populated from the API, or not... I guess I'll insert some special-case logic with asterisks.

user259867
And backfill the SOFU data in this way, as much as possible...

@MiceElf AFAIK, Anna's planning on backfilling those once we get all the details hashed out; they'll be correct eventually

user202362
@Shog9 think about the environment ... just think about it ... maybe switch your diet to carp & turkey instead in order to save the world?

beef and carp sauce? With turkey gravy? Sounds good...

user202362
Also where is Anna, did her cats kidnap her from this chat?

2:36 AM
She changed her name to Normal Human, just to mix things up

user163250
@Shog9 I was referring to the fact that sawa chose to delete the answer, and then 3 other users chose to undelete it, presumably against his wishes, and that action resulted in downvotes that would not have been received otherwise.

@Cupcake so... Once upon a time, users were prevented from voting to undelete an answer that the author had self-deleted.

user163250
The possibility that the users who undeleted were the ones who also downvoted is also troubling.

user202362
I almost believed you then I remembered all my missing reps on meta

Not sure when that was dropped, but I kinda think it shouldn't have been

user163250
2:38 AM
I can see how allowing users to undelete would help with cleaning up rage-quits.

user163250
But there are automated detection systems in place for that that notifies mods now, correct?

user259867
It wouldn't really help with that, since non-mods don't know which posts were deleted.

@Cupcake there are, and have been for a long time.

user163250
@Shog9 well anyways, thanks for taking a look.

user202362
wait, logically not sound
