James is here, he came without a greeting this time.

I still can’t get over the baby rattlesnake. It must have been no more than a week old.

user259867
Poor baby.

I released it reasonably unharmed.
@JamesENL You’re supposed to ring the kittychow bell when you show up. :)

I also released a hummingbird today, who was just fine. But there is a vole under my bed that I have to do something about.
You’d think I didn’t feed these guys.

Was banned originally (when Shog installed a network-wide ban with exemptions). Then Travel was added to exemptions. Then the infamous WinXP/IE6 wave hit, and Nick Craver & jmac added a temp block. Then it expired, and here we are...

user259867
@Oded would it be feasible ("not hard") to change the filter from "any single kanji character disqualifies the post" to something proportion-based? As a mod on one of the sites that was getting attacked I certainly want the spam block; I just wonder if we can tune it at all (without impeding performance too much). — Monica Cellio Sep 1 at 16:33

That would require programming. :)

Ah, the far too often used fagboof font ...

. . . oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof.
Ahh. So "unclear what you're asking" is the HW closure reason of SO @Bart?

A variety of choices applies. Some go for "too broad" as well. I prefer "unclear" because you've essentially not asked a question yet. It's a statement of the homework problem, not what you specifically have a problem with.

Then why not an official homework close reason?
(I'm guessing 'cause there'll be abuse?)

To some extent, yes. And you can ask good questions about your homework. So it's not homework that's by definition off-topic. It's bad questions.
The context in which you're facing a problem doesn't really matter.

@rene pleasure is all mine...

10:33 AM
Well we don't close HW outright. We just require some original thought and strike at an answer, which I guess a good programming question has to have.
