Bethany Marzewski on December 12, 2012

After months of work from our dev team, last week marked the official launch of our first localized site with Careers 2.0 in German. We celebrated the occasion in style on December 5 with a blow-out party at Betahaus in Berlin complete with product demos, free food, free t-shirts, oh, and German beer of course.

But why Germany? Well, aside from the fact that it gave us a great excuse to make these really cool t-shirts, we have a few other pretty good reasons for this expansion:

Germans are the largest non-English-speaking group of Stack Overflow users in Europe To date, visitors from Germa …

user259867
Ah. That explains the ginormous sales team.

there's a french site somewhere too
I remember it because we got t-shirts with roosters on them.
Apparently French are cocks, who knew?

user259867

Coq au vin is awesome

user259867
4:54 PM
There is also Careers in English (UK).

user259867
The Internationalization posts are split as SO and "SE 2.0". Where does this leave SF and SU?
Time to come up with a convenient term for "those sites that are not SO".

Careers localization is a bit of a different bird from main-site localization; the whole point is to match up job seekers / offers in a given location, so the language follows from that; in contrast to the main sites where the location isn't actually that important but the language is.

it basically boils down to this:
adding stuff to an array, simple
there exist 18 fields in the array, so it's not out of bounds. I get a null reference error, meaning the specific thing doesn't exist, but does exist.
crashes at fields[9], which I don't get as there is a 9th field
