When a user with association bonus joins a new SE site, the profile page encourages them to reach the next privilege target: vote down. Fine with me. But I'm not sure this is really how Jay Hanlon wanted the system to work.

A: Aren't moderators eligible for the Deputy and Marshal badges too, or has it changed?

These flags do count towards the badges when appropriately dismissed as helpful, but moderators aren't eligible to receive either Deputy or Marshal badges according to Geoff Dalgas: The Deputy and Marshal badges are only granted to registered users - not moderators.

The profile page bug was reported and is being fixed (so that Deputy/Marshal will not be offered as targets for mods):

But that would change the meaning, and, imo, is unlikely to be implemented. Those badges are meant for raising flags, not handling them. Handling is a moderator task for which mods get recognized with different badges.

still, it'd be cool to have badges for 1000, 2000, 50000 flags handled.

suspension == banned as far as I'm concerned.

Moderators can suspend people for a length of time, and ban people from review for a length of time. Means the same thing :P

A: Ban vs Suspend (e.g. I banned a user from my site)

Suspend implies temporary, whereas ban implies permanent. So I would guess you should go for whichever implication you want to give.
