Did you read the secret comments, too?

I did.

I don’t edit posts in order to fix a posting’s “quotation marks”, but if I’m in there anyway, no reason not to improve its aesthetics.

The inconsistency of ® in fonts is kind of annoying.

Yeah.
In the edit box, it’s already raised.
Of course, anything that’s already a superscript in that face is always going to look better than using HTML to create superiors. But that choice is available to only a few glyphs.
I’m frankly surprised that @bjb noticed I’m virtually always using real apostrophes here. Nobody else ever has.

I can't find a reference for it but I'm 99% sure ® isn't supposed to be naturally superscript in fonts, and the ones that display it that way are the troublemakers.

1:10 PM
Straight quotes look horrible in Georgia. In some faces, they look less bad. I do have a pet peeve about people who post curly quotes and such in code blocks where the compiler wouldn’t put up with them.

Aren't there two separate codepoints, one which is a superscript and one that isn't?

@JanDvorak No.
That’s the rub.

there should be

I just dedicated 3 minutes of my life to searching for that on meta. I give up.
I'd say, they update much fast, but not much very fast.
I know when I edit tags on a post, the search results take some time to update, but it's on the order of ones of minutes.

One minute made no difference.
Which has nothing to do with minute maids.

Maybe the upgrade to second maids was too expensive.

Just kidding. I feel pretty good about "too broad" on that one. Not necessarily opinion-based. It just has too many questions over a really wide range of non-specific things.

Is there an RSS feed for a specific user's network activity?

4:10 PM
@JasonC Now THAT would be an interesting trick to teach a bot.

Are you aware that all sites in the network provide this functionality? e.g. stackoverflow.com/feeds/user/<userid>;

@vaultah That's a nice link to have.

@vaultah Yes.

Use individual site feeds with an aggregator.

@JasonC Okay then :p

4:15 PM
"Network activity" = the aggregate of all of those; e.g. the data from stackexchange.com/users/5837738/ren?tab=activity. It does not exist (meta.stackexchange.com/questions/151519/…, I've verified that the links there are still relevant at the current time.) There is various interesting discussion linked to from that post.
@Mooseman Well, that doesn't track new accounts.

@JasonC 'tis true, but one could scrape http://stackexchange.com/users/1279912/mooseman?tab=accounts

Yeah, periodic scraping is the only way to do it right now, although that's only really convenient for bots and stuff, not so great for, say, an RSS feed reader app. I asked if a network feed existed to avoid that. It doesn't. But it looks like some people were working on various things to that effect, maybe, in some of those other discussions -- they're kind of all watered down due to age now though.
I can't imagine that a feature request hasn't been posted before, though. I just haven't found it yet. I'm presuming a network activity feed doesn't exist for a reason.

@Mooseman an Other flag on a Meta account would be a fine idea ...

@bummi ???

Hey @Haney, do you know if there's some technical reason why a network user activity RSS feed doesn't exist? E.g. a feed for stackexchange.com/users/userid?tab=activity. My research is failing.

4:22 PM
I don't believe there's a technical reason. Meta post it

4:28 PM
I talk here in the chat some time ago if it would be nice to have the ability to leave comments or a kind of feeling flag which would be bound on users, not on post ... with enough of those an alerts might be triggered for mods for an inspection. Sometimes things can't be flagged (less evidence) in sum, give be many users it could be something like collective intelligence ...
Afternoon!

@bummi what's wrong with flagging posts and having system handle user quality score based on their posts?

^^

@bummi Are you referring to e.g. stackexchange.com/users/5837738/ren?

@JasonC the name is the same mine has 8 accounts

@bummi Yes, stackexchange.com/users/5837738/ren?tab=accounts, I just didn't link to the account tab. Same user. But is that the type of user you are referring to that you'd like to see "feeling flags" on?

@JasonC yes, but just as comment, enough comments could trigger an action by the mod's

@bummi What's wrong with this:
Hey @Shog9 can you kill stackexchange.com/users/5837738/ren?tab=accounts? All spam, been around for a while.

4:42 PM
@bjb568 nothing, sometimes the evidence is weak, you have the feeling of a voting fraud but can't be sure, have the strong feeling of something fishy is going on (if you come back later many of these users are nuked)

Well, attention has been brought, so it's out of our hands now. I trust the CMs to take care of it. If a user is around for a while, and "contact us" doesn't give response (give it more than a few days, I'm sure the queue is long), you can annoy a CM in chat like I do. And in the mean time, just keep flagging spam as it comes up. As long as the spam itself is destroyed it doesn't really matter if one or two accounts stick around for a while afterwards.
I think it's relatively (compared to well-handled spam) rare enough that it doesn't necessarily warrant a new mechanic.
