I am switching to an event-driven system, which will let me show which users are in the room

@rchern syntax errors fixed but logical errors remain. What's frustrating is, in ruby, if an exception occurs in a thread, I get no notice of that, the thread just stops. I suppose I should create an exception handler for the poll thread, but for now I'm doing brute-force debugging

ok @rchern, script should be back up and running now with an event-driven poller which sends edit events also

I'm open to ideas on how edits should be handled. For now, they show as normal messages

As for the ID, I was thinking days ago maybe each message should start with the ID. But that would get very distracting
